By the looks of it I´d choose [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], because I love both, but from saying them out loud I´d pick [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] is a great name, it´s unexpected, but not hard to adjust to since it sounds similar to [name_u]Kyle[/name_u].
I really love [name_u]Lyle[/name_u]. It sounds like a cravat-wearing gentleman. But thanks to [name_m]Lovett[/name_m], also like a country boy. Also the Crocodile.
Of course, I’m finding I really love relatively rare boys names that sound very similar to very popular girls’ names, so might be heard to wear. [name_u]Lyle[/name_u]‘s one of them–sounds quite a bit like [name_f]Lila[/name_f], which is currently getting huge on the girls’ side. Others I’m finding I love include [name_m]Emil[/name_m], which you know would just get called [name_f]Emily[/name_f], and, on the girl’s side I love [name_f]Noa[/name_f], which, in English, sounds identical to [name_u]Noah[/name_u], among the most popular boys’ names. So that’s where I’m at.
But I think [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] is really great. I also like [name_u]Kyle[/name_u], although growing up in the Southwest I remember hating the name, as I associated it with mean boys. [name_u]Lyle[/name_u], with its softer sound, sounds much nicer to me.
I’d say [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] would sound best followed by one syllable, because it’s already got such a sinuous complex sound where the syllables slide into each other–[name_f]Do[/name_f] you say [name_m]Ly[/name_m]-uhl or Leyel (one syllable)? Either way, I’d say something like [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_u]Ren[/name_u] or [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] or [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Craig[/name_m]. Of your choices, I like [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] the best. [name_m]William[/name_m] is just too many el syllables.
I personally do not care for [name_u]Lyle[/name_u]. In the same way I do not care for [name_f]Lila[/name_f]/[name_f]Lilah[/name_f]. I do not care for the lie part. Sorry. Of your combos I like [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] and [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] best.
[name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] are the best combos to me. I’m not that into it, but maybe that’s because of [name_m]Don[/name_m] Rickles playing the character of a [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] Delp in an old [name_m]Dick[/name_m] van Dyke Show episode. Not that anyone is going to think of that but me : ) I definitely prefer [name_u]Niall[/name_u] as an alternative, though.
I really don’t like it. It sounds very hillbilly to me, probably because a family member who lives in [name_u]Tennessee[/name_u] has that name, and it was used on 16 and Pregnant.
It’s not awful or offensive though so if you like it you should use it.
I really love the sound of the name [name_u]Lyle[/name_u], but unfortunately a personal association would prevent me from ever using it! Great choice, though. [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a great combination!
I think it still feels rather dated. I don’t know why because it has the popular l-/ly- sound. I’d love to meet a little boy with the name. If I did, I think it would definitely grow on me!
I don’t really like it. I think it sounds sleazy, but that’s probably because of past associations. Maybe if I were to meet a little boy with it, it would change my mind.
