What do you associate with each of these names?

We’re a week away from meeting our next little guy and I think we have it narrowed down to two primary contenders (of course, I’m liable to change the name every single day leading up to his birth because I’m so indecisive).

I’m trying to get an idea of what people would think or associate with particular names - personality, interests, etc.

We have:

[name]Gavin[/name] [name]Rhys[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]

And, as usual, always open to suggestions  Thanks!

I personally prefer [name]Gavin[/name] [name]Rhys[/name]. I’ve known 2 Gavins and both of them played guitar.

I like that [name]Rhys[/name] is in both options. It’s a great name. I’m only mediocre about [name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name], so for this reason I personally prefer [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], as then [name]Rhys[/name] is the primary name.

I don’t really associate specific characteristics with either of these names though, except for maybe that [name]Gavin[/name] [name]Rhys[/name] will have a sense of humor (don’t know why I make this association).

If we use [name]Joseph[/name], it would be because it’s my fathers name. I’m not actually partial to it. I like [name]Rhys[/name], and my husband has been pretty set on using [name]Rhys[/name] but I never have felt like ‘this is it!’

We came across [name]Gavin[/name] recently and we both felt it had potential when paired with [name]Rhys[/name] and our last name. Then again I also love the name [name]Bodhi[/name] for its meaning but don’t think I’m brave enough to use it and think it will stay in my guilty pleasure list of names.

I love [name]Gavin[/name]! I think it is a more masculine name than [name]Rhys[/name]. [name]Rhys[/name] is a bit more of a quiet bookworm, or an intellect. [name]Gavin[/name] is sporty, loves the outdoors, plays a musical instrument and is also working on his PhD. I really like both names though, for what it’s worth.

Good luck!

[name]Gavin[/name] [name]Rhys[/name] - handsome and energetic. A guy with a great sense of humor, a lot of energy, and is handsome!
[name]Rhys[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] - cute and laid-back.

I personally prefer [name]Gavin[/name] [name]Rhys[/name]!

I like [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] the most, nice name

I love [name]Rhys[/name], so [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] gets my vote. [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Gavin[/name] is handsome too though and I am curious why you aren’t considering it.

[name]Gavin[/name] reminds me of [name]Denis[/name] [name]Leary[/name]'s character, [name]Tommy[/name] [name]Gavin[/name], from Rescue Me. That is kind of a good association, but kinda not. It also seems quite popular where I live so it seems like a typical little boy name. The type of little boy that would fit in well, and be well liked.

[name]Rhys[/name] doesn’t have any strong associations for me, which is probably one of the reasons why I love it so much. It sounds handsome and strong.

I actually like both names! [name]Rhys[/name] seems more current and modern, but [name]Gavin[/name] is nice and masculine. Personally, I like [name]Rhys[/name] better.

I like [name]Gavin[/name] [name]Rhys[/name] or [name]Rhys[/name] something other than [name]Joseph[/name].

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Owen[/name] [name]Rhys[/name], and [name]Jackson[/name] [name]Rhys[/name] were top contenders when I had my son so I think I’m used to thinking of it in the middle spot.
