What do you see?

We have three names on our list

[name]Lincoln[/name]
[name]William[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name]

We love them all very much… but we can’t seem to narrow it down… So we would like to know what do you think of these names? What kind of child do you see these on? And my husband would like to know, are they masculine?

We would like to thank everyone for their help… We really appreciate it!

I love [name]William[/name], maybe because that is my husband’s name.

I guess [name]Lincoln[/name] is okay too, but it’s not really my taste and it seems weak. If you ask me [name]Spencer[/name] isn’t really masculine. I think it is geeky and also quite weak.

[name]Lincoln[/name] - Would you use the nickname [name]Link[/name]? I see [name]Link[/name] as an athlete, super popular and good-looking. I also think of [name]Link[/name] [name]Larkin[/name] from Hairspray, which is a great association. So, either an athlete or a performer. Either way, talented. If he chose to go predominately by [name]Lincoln[/name] I think he’d be smart. Well I think of him as smart either way, but I guess [name]Lincoln[/name] would be more academically oriented and [name]Link[/name] would be more into extra-curriculars. I love this name and it’s long been #1 on our list for a second boy. I do think it’s very masculine. [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] is a wonderful namesake and I think he would like the connection to [name]Link[/name] from [name]Legend[/name] of [name]Zelda[/name].

[name]William[/name] - I don’t picture a particular kind of person because [name]William[/name] can be anyone. It’s one of the most classic names ever for a reason. It’s a great name. It’s very popular, I feel like I hear about little [name]Williams[/name] being born all the time. But that really doesn’t take away from the name since it’s been so common for so long anyway. Oh, definitely very masculine!

[name]Spencer[/name] - Very nice name! (It would be one of my favorites if it weren’t for three things: a) I went to elementary with a really creepy one b) I’m a big fan of the hills and he’s a psycho c) it doesn’t go with my last name) . It is steadily going down in popularity and it’s about 30 points less popular than [name]Lincoln[/name]. That would be a big plus for me. It means he probably won’t meet others with his name and there won’t be one on every corner in a couple of years (there is somewhat of a risk of that with [name]Lincoln[/name] with how quickly he’s rising). I see [name]Spencer[/name] as a photographer, very artistic. He’s sort of thin, with dark hair. I do think this name is masculine, but I guess the least so of the three… but that doesn’t mean much, the other two are very masculine!

I think a boy would like to have any of these names. I really don’t think you can go wrong… you said you plan to use all three eventually, right? Well how about [name]Lincoln[/name] first so that you beat the trend and he’ll still be the only one in his class? And then [name]William[/name], and then [name]Spencer[/name] because by then [name]Spencer[/name] [name]Pratt[/name] will be forgotten by everyone (I know that connection doesn’t bother you, but it is nevertheless a negative association and there are lots of people who will think of it. I mean it’s not SUCH a big deal that I wouldn’t use it for this baby or anything, but if you plan to use all of these, it wouldn’t hurt to wait).

So, sorry I wrote too much! I would go with [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]William[/name] and [name]Spencer[/name]. They look good in that order. It also makes them feel like a more cohesive set. [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]Spencer[/name] and [name]William[/name] would make [name]William[/name] stand out as the classic after the two quirkier names (only to severe name nerds like me, not to ANY normal person, so I guess it really doesn’t matter!). But [name]William[/name] in the middle just makes them perfect in my opinion. Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong! All three are great names!

[name]William[/name] [name]Liam[/name] [name]Will[/name]
[name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Linc[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name] [name]Spence[/name]

I like all the names, but I love the nn’s
[name]Liam[/name] is my favorite, but [name]Spence[/name] is ok too, [name]Linc[/name] is cute, but a lil off to me:)

Only one of these names will have a truly untainted view.

[name]Lincoln[/name]: I love this name so much. It honors [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name], one of our greatest presidents, and it’s just a great name. The nickname [name]Link[/name] is great. I picture a [name]Lincoln[/name]/[name]Link[/name] being an All-American Boy, kind of the boy next door look. I imagine him being studious and hardworking but also fun and down to earth, and funny. A lot of people like being around him. Also, I picture a [name]Lincoln[/name] as a baseball player in high school. [name]Link[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] sounds like the perfect athlete name. And yes, it is very masculine.

[name]William[/name]: I know a few [name]Williams[/name], “[name]Will[/name],” and one of them is constantly picked on. People don’t get him (he’s too smart for his own good and he gets frustrated easily) so they resort to being mean. While this [name]William[/name] is a little strange, we have very similar minds, so this name does make me think of a smart kid.
On the other hand, my little brother has a friend named [name]Will[/name] who is mischevious, a baseball player, funny, and pretty smart. The name [name]William[/name] is pretty widespread for me. Yes, it is very masculine.

[name]Spencer[/name]: The only [name]Spencer[/name] I know is a chubby (not trying to sound rude) freshman in my Spanish class who is constantly striving to impress me and laughs like a chipmunk. But he is a very smart kid.
Before I knew him, I always pictured a [name]Spencer[/name] as a tall guy who is relatively popular and nice to everyone. People are drawn to him, but he’s not like an out there personality. I think [name]Spencer[/name] is a great name that any type of guy could fit into. It is pretty masculine. Not macho, but it’s also not girly sounding at all.

You know, I was thinking. who said uh oh?

Some of us do better if we can see outside but for some, the activity outside can be too distracting. The key is to identify what you need to get the job done in your home office.

Huh?

Huh?

Yes all are masculine:) I don’t like [name]Lincoln[/name]. Here’s why. I think its too distingushed (spelling?) as a first name. Its a surname. Its also a famous surname. [name]Lincoln[/name] Logs was a toy I used to play with. It’s just not a cute name [name]IMO[/name] nn [name]Linc[/name]? Nah. [name]Spencer[/name] is cute and definatly not that common but heard of and everyone knows how to spell it. I love [name]William[/name] most definatly love this name:) Classic, strong, handesome. [name]Spencer[/name] [name]William[/name] or [name]William[/name] [name]Spencer[/name] would be cute. NN [name]Liam[/name] or [name]Will[/name] are nice.

I like [name]Spencer[/name] - not too popular or as common as [name]William[/name], but still have a classy feel to it.

Great nn too - [name]Spence[/name]. Everyone is [name]William[/name] or [name]Will[/name] or [name]Wills[/name] or [name]Liam[/name]. It’s blends into a crowd kind of name. imho

[name]Lincoln[/name] I know is making a comeback, but I’m just not personally crazy about the name.
