#1. [name_f]My[/name_f] DH wants to use “Lucid” if we wind up having a boy. Up until now (30 weeks pregnant) I have dismissed it to the middle name category. But we are having a ROUGH time agreeing on boy names (please see my other post I need to expand my list! WARNING: picky parents!) so I am now SLIGHTLY considering using “Lucid” for a first name. Our last name rhymes with “given”.
#2. I haven’t written it down, but keep coming across “[name_u]Sequoia[/name_u]”… too hippie? Too used? Too similar to “[name_f]Soraya[/name_f]” which is our daughter’s name? (Lucid would be the middle name)
#3. Same question as #2 but for “[name_u]Sterling[/name_u]”. (Lucid would be the middle name)
Lucid sounds strange to but maybe that is because I work in the medical field and lucid describes the mental status of a patient.
I like [name_u]Sequoia[/name_u] a lot and don’t find it too hippie but I do think it is too similar to [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] for siblings.
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u] sounds like an excellent choice. It is not too similar [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] and flows well with your middle and last name.
I agree with the previous poster. [name_u]Sequoia[/name_u] and [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] are too similar for siblings (and are a bit of a mouthful together), but [name_u]Sterling[/name_u] and [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] go nicely.
Thank you ladies!! [name_f]My[/name_f] DH likes “Lucid” for it’s meaning, and the lucid dreaming connotation. As a matter of fact he vetoes any name I don’t think “Lucid” would fit with.
If you have time please weigh-in on my other thread. And for now, [name_u]Sterling[/name_u] will go on the list but [name_u]Sequoia[/name_u] will not
I would 100% recommend using [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] or [name_m]Lucius[/name_m] instead of Lucid! Similar meaning, and much more handsome imo! ([name_m]Lucius[/name_m] if last name rhymes with given)
Otherwise, [name_u]Sterling[/name_u]. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] and [name_m]Sayer[/name_m] are other ideas. Good luck!
Thank you everyone! Last night I got my hubby to agree to my 1st name choice (which is none of these 3) in agreement to use Lucid as a MN. I just had to point out that the last name is his, the middle name his choice and our daughter’s middle name is his mother’s name… so 6 names, 2 kids and so far I only have “credit” for 1! He went for it!! So it looks as if baby winds up being a boy and it suits him, [name_m]OMRI[/name_m] wins!
