[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is my new favorite name! I love the feel and image it gives me, but I was wondering what you all think about the name. Here are some of my combos that I have so far:
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Norah[/name_f]
These are all honor names, so I don’t actually have any that I made up myself, so if you have any other combo suggestions I would love to hear them!
I really like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]! [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] are cute!
Other combos ~
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
The meaning is lovely but I find the sound a bit frumpy.
I want to like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] but it still feels a little stuffy and grandma like to me. I think it’s making a come back but I haven’t totally warmed up to it yet.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Norah[/name_f] are my favorites from your list!
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is my aunt’s name and she’s the only one I’ve ever met! I like it. I don’t think it’s old sounding.
I actually think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is a very elegant, classy and pretty name. It also has a solidity and wisdom to it that I find quite fresh and appealing. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] has a similar appeal to me as other more popular “I” names like [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_u]Irie[/name_u], [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], etc. but without all the frill and hype.
As far as combos go… I would pair [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] with something a little more feminine or classic. Like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalia[/name_f], or [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], etc. I would stay away from mn’s that others might perceive to be “frumpy, stuffy or grandma” sounding. (I don’t think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is old or frumpy sounding at all, but I think that perception appears to be out there for many.)
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is gorgeous!!
I love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]!
I love it! The only two Ingrids I know of are in their late 30s and they’re both beautiful and sophisticated. I’d love to meet a little [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] and it’s on my own long list.
I really like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]! From your options, [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Norah[/name_f] is my favourite.
I love the name [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], it’s my name and I’ve always loved it! [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s name is [name_f]Astrid[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] middle name is [name_f]Jayne[/name_f], so [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Jayne[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] mum is [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u]. She hated the name growing up and some called her “the spiciest Ingredient” but I think it’s a strong name. It feels like a fortress, yet beautiful and feminine. Depending on your surname, you might want to consider the number of syllables in the middle name when making the decision. Does it roll off the tongue well? I think my grandmother did a good job with my mum’s name in that it’s two syllables + three syllables. Other suggestions:
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Andrea[/name_u]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Honora[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Hermina[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Winona[/name_f]
I had aunts named [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Sigrid[/name_f], but in my family (from Norway), it’s pronounced Ingree and Sigree, no “d” sound.
I love it said that way.
I think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] or [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Mathilde[/name_f] are both lovely.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is one of my favorites too!! Of the combos you listed, [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is my favorite
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u] it DOES feel like a fortress. In all the best ways. I love your mum’s name.
I think the name fits my mum because she is strong like a fortress, but also kind with the biggest heart.
I like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]. It’s not personal style, but I think it’s a classic name with a sophisticated sound. The [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Bergman association gives it a touch of vintage glamour.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] second. I find [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Norah[/name_f] a bit harsh with [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], an under-used gem for me. I like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].
I love it, it’s on my list. [name_u]Strong[/name_u] and pretty at once. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Norah[/name_f] are my favourites from your middle options.
Whenever I hear [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] I always think of the children’s book series, ‘The Worst Witch’, which is strange because I don’t think there was a character named Ingrid… Anyway! I think it’s a very sleek and classy choice. It doesn’t feel to frumpy or old to me at all, but I think I’d prefer [name_f]Inka[/name_f] which I’ve read is a diminutive of [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is really quite beautiful!
