I always liked the name [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], but I was put off by its popularity. Now I have come across Ostar and I love it!
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it and/or do you have associations with the name?

I don’t like the name ostar
It reminds me of the names [name_u]Aster[/name_u] and [name_f]Ostara[/name_f] (Gemanic goddess of fertility and spring). I’m not a particular fan, and I think it would get misheard as [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] quite frequently.
I like it. I think of [name_f]Ostara[/name_f] as well, so it has a slightly mystical vibe to me, coupled with a strong and appealing sound. I do agree that it would be misheard as [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] quite a bit though.
I’m not keen - I think it would get misheard as [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], plus pronunciation issues of short/drawn out ‘o’ sound.
I’ve never heard it, nor [name_f]Ostara[/name_f], so no association.
I think that it’s a nice fresh version of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], but at first I read it as oyster. I agree with the above commenter, it would often get mispronounced as [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. But even my name (Keira) often gets mispronounced often, and it’s not even that unusual of a name! So if you love it I would totally add it to your list!
I don’t know how to say it! Im thinking like coaster without the c or is it like the appliance brand Oster? Surely not oh-star.
I’d recommend the name [name_u]Aster[/name_u]. It’s similar to Ostar but, wouldn’t get misheard as [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] as much.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] sounds like it would constantly be confused with [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] to me.
Ostar is intriguing!! I like it
I prefer [name_m]Ostadar[/name_m]
