What do you think about the name Shirley?

Thoughts on Shirley?

It’s not my personal cup of tea, but it feels ripe for revival with some of the other ā€œvintageā€ names that are coming back lately. I’d love to meet a little [name_u]Shirley[/name_u].

I want to love this name - as it is very sentimental to us! But I probably would only use it in the middle spot.

I’m afraid that I find [name_u]Shirley[/name_u] very dated, and I don’t believe it’s quite ready for revival yet.

[name_u]Shirley[/name_u] still feels quite dated to me, but it does bring to mind the cute [name_u]Shirley[/name_u] [name_u]Temple[/name_u], so that could be a plus!

It being that ā€˜dated’ names are some of my favorite names, I love Shirley so so so much

[name_u]Shirley[/name_u] is a gorgeous name. It’s always been one of my favorites. I personally think even though some people might consider it dated I think it’s perfectly good to use especially if it has sentimental value! You could pair it it with a more modern middle name.

[name_u]Or[/name_u] you could fully embrace it’s retro vibe with names like:

I really like [name_u]Shirley[/name_u]! I think it’s so sweet. I actually knew a baby [name_u]Shirley[/name_u] a while back and thought it was adorable!

I love the connection to a certain miss [name_u]Anne[/name_u] Shirley-Cuthbert :womans_hat: she brings a ton to the name for me! It does feel a bit dated, but I think it could be really cute on a fresh face. Could be super spunky.

It’s kind of clunky and dated, but sort of sweet too.

I find it dated and I don’t love the sound. I also think the ā€œDon’t call me Shirleyā€ jokes would get old pretty quickly.

[name_u]Shirley[/name_u] is lovely! Of course largely associated with [name_u]Anne[/name_u] [name_u]Shirley[/name_u] for me, which is a big plus, but even without that, I think it’s a really sweet vintage name!

I find concerns about it being ā€œdatedā€ a little odd because… I think it’s pretty obvious it’s not exactly ā€œon-trendā€? Like I’m assuming if you’re considering using it you know it’s an unexpected vintage choice? So it’s not really a dealbreaker that someone finds it dated? But maybe that’s just me.

I adore [name_u]Shirley[/name_u]. It has such a sense of abundance to it.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it its very punk rock to me while also being soft. It’s got layers.
