What do you think about the name Winnie?

I love the name so much. It just makes me think of a sweet, thoughtful, shy but friendly little girl. Is it okay to use on its own (which I would prefer) or would I be better off using [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] on the birth certificate. I would love to hear any opinions or experiences with the name anyone might have :slight_smile:

I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! It is very sweet. If you want a more formal name, how about [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. Charming, sweet and unique.
I’m not big on [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] at all though.

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is a great name. I have this same feeling as you: lovely, romantic and nice little girl.
Particularly, I like Winry also. Same feels, but a little… rocker?
If the name it’s too short for you, [name_f]Winslet[/name_f] is a fine option.
[name_f]Remember[/name_f]: [name_u]Win[/name_u] is ALWAYS a great nickname!

I think it is cute and is “on trend” right now with old fashioned names coming back in style. I would go with [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], not [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. It is the name of one of my guinea pigs. I would just put [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] on the birth certificate. There is no point in putting something else when it is not the name you will always call her.

I love [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], but I prefer [name_u]Winn[/name_u] over [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. Personally, I would put a more formal name on the certificate, but it doesn’t have to be [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]. As others mentioned, [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Winslet[/name_f] are both great options! Or you could try [name_f]Winona[/name_f] too!

I like the suggestion of [name_f]Winslet[/name_f] as [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is pretty bad

I love the name [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] on it’s own, but you could use the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] for basically any name with a “win” sound - [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Rhonwen[/name_f], [name_u]Rowen[/name_u], [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f], etc.

I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! I think its adorable! I’m not a fan of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], if you want a full name I’d choose [name_f]Winslet[/name_f]. But I prefer just [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], nickname names are popular right now anyways! Anyways, [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is such a romantic, cute, charming, unique, and great name.

I’m having an obsession with both [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] at the moment. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is not a name I would ever have liked before, but somehow it just seems perfect now.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (see my signature below). I think it is a lovely strong but feminine name. And [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is an ADORABLE nickname (but I wouldn’t use it as the full name on its own).

I would just use [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. But I also love the name [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], so I’m kind of torn. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is super cute and adorable.
