I’m very sorry, but I really dislike both [name_u]Jess[/name_u] and [name_f]Jessica[/name_f]. I wouldn’t feel sorry for a [name_u]Jess[/name_u], because I’m sure there are a lot of people who like this name, but I’m just not one of them. If I had to choose out of [name_u]Jess[/name_u] and [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], I’d choose [name_u]Jess[/name_u].

That’s okay, [name_f]Polina[/name_f], no need to apologize! All opinions are helpful, so thank you

I’m personally not a fan of [name_u]Jess[/name_u]… I just have a bad association with a [name_u]Jess[/name_u]/[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] that was horrible to me growing up. I really like [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] though. Maybe with the nn [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]. Those names feel fresher to me.

I like the idea of using another form of [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] ([name_u]Jessie[/name_u], [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f], [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]), and calling her “[name_u]Jess[/name_u].” This was she has a longer option that is not so overused as [name_f]Jessica[/name_f].

[name_u]Jess[/name_u] feels very plain and cropped when used on its own. I prefer [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] or [name_f]Jessa[/name_f] with nickname [name_u]Jess[/name_u].

I love [name_u]Jess[/name_u] but can’t stand [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], I also love [name_f]Becca[/name_f] but not a huge fan of [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]

If you want a fuller name for [name_u]Jess[/name_u] but dislike [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], you could use [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]. I’m partial to the [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] spelling because of a book I loved when I was younger (Dancing Through the [name_f]Snow[/name_f] by [name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_m]Little[/name_m]), personally, but both are pretty and hit a “sweet spot” of unique but with familiar sounds.

I want a choice between “it’s nice” and “don’t care for it.” It’s just a little dated, but so will be everything that sounds fresh now. I like it just fine for people my age, but it doesn’t really catch me.

[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Jessica[/name_f]. It’s not too bad. I prefer [name_f]Jessa[/name_f] but wouldn’t use it because it’s so close to my name. I know a [name_m]Jesi[/name_m] who goes by [name_u]Jess[/name_u]. I go by [name_u]Jess[/name_u] with my friends. I’ve known many Jessicas who go by [name_u]Jess[/name_u]. I think it’s a fine name, but it’s forever dated to the 80s.

[name_u]Jess[/name_u] isn’t terrible. I think it’s spunky and short, even if it’s not my usual style. I personally prefer [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] nn [name_u]Jess[/name_u].

I know a million [name_f]Jessica[/name_f]'s who are referred too as [name_u]Jess[/name_u], and this has completely turned me off the name.

I guess there are variations though - [name_f]Jessalyn[/name_f], [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f], Jessaleigh. You could consider one of those?

I love the nickname [name_u]Jess[/name_u], but I would use [name_f]Jessa[/name_f] or [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] as the full name.

I like [name_f]Bess[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] but not [name_u]Jess[/name_u]. Unlike the first two names which have been in use for a long time, [name_u]Jess[/name_u] looks incomplete.

[name_f]My[/name_f] best friend is named [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] and she comfortably goes by that, by [name_u]Jess[/name_u], and by JessJess. Thanks to her I always see it as a super laid back name, fitting of a girl who’s not at all shy, always has a big smile on her face, and is a bit of a girly tomboy (she loves pink but will wear it more often as camo than in anything girly!)

[name_u]Jess[/name_u] is ok. If I met one, I’d assume her full name was [name_f]Jessica[/name_f]. I don’t think jessica is ready for a comeback any time soon.

[name_f]Jessa[/name_f] is unusual, well, as for the popularity ranking, it is approximately 990. I went to school with a [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]. Like this name a lot. [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] is trending a bit, at least on nameberry.

It’s OK, not my favourite but not bad either:) Did a quick search for names containing J, e, s and came up with intriguing [name_f]Jensine[/name_f], Jenisa, Jelisa, Jessebelle, Jessiebelle, [name_f]Janessa[/name_f], Jelis, Jeressa, Jesami, Jesimiel among others. Quite interesting:)

I’m not a fan of [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] at all to be honest. On the other hand, I do like [name_u]Jess[/name_u], but only for a boy actually. I don’t think I’d use it for a girl.
