Title says it all! I love [name]Alvin[/name], but is it too ‘chipmunks’?
I tend to think [name]Alvin[/name] is too chipmunky, but that association may pass with his generation. My favorite [name]Al[/name] names are [name]Albert[/name], [name]Alden[/name], and [name]Alistair[/name].
As long as you don’t make his middle name (or siblings!) [name]Simon[/name] or [name]Theodore[/name] :). I like [name]Alvin[/name]! I think its adorable. Another
“[name]Al[/name]” name I like is [name]Alton[/name].
[name]Alvin[/name] is very sweet, if a little chipmunky I think the chipmunk connection might be a bit too strong right now, but give it a while and the world will probably forget. My favourite [name]Al[/name]- names are [name]Alaric[/name], [name]Alec[/name], [name]Alfred[/name], [name]Alastair[/name]/dair, Alastor, [name]Alexei[/name] and [name]Albert[/name]. I also find [name]Alcott[/name] quite charming.
It’s sweet, but I do think of the chipmunk. My nephew’s name is [name]Arvin[/name].
My favourite [name]Al[/name]- names are [name]Aloysius[/name], [name]Alistair[/name] and [name]Alvar[/name].
[name]Alvin[/name] is cute and geeky. I am starting to like it more as time goes on.
I really like [name]Albert[/name], [name]Alfred[/name] and [name]Alaric[/name]. [name]Albert[/name] was my great-great grandfather’s name and I wanted to use it, but it was vetoed.
My favorite name with the nn [name]Al[/name] is actually [name]Alana[/name] But I do like [name]Albert[/name], especially pronounced [name]Al[/name]-bear, as in the [name]Count[/name] of [name]Monte[/name] Cristo. My Grandfather’s name is [name]Alec[/name], which I love, short of [name]Alexander[/name].
[name]Alaric[/name], Alastor, [name]Alasdair[/name], [name]Alban[/name], [name]Albion[/name], [name]Albert[/name], [name]Aldous[/name], [name]Algernon[/name], [name]Alonzo[/name], [name]Alphonse[/name], [name]Alton[/name], [name]Alvaro[/name], [name]Alvar[/name], Alvarin, Alvaric and [name]Alun[/name].
[name]Alban[/name], [name]Albion[/name] and [name]Albert[/name] would be [name]Albie[/name] though, at least when they’re little.
And I like [name]Dair[/name]/Dare for [name]Alasdair[/name].
If [name]Alvin[/name] is too chipmunk to use, you could always go for [name]Calvin[/name]. [name]Calvin[/name] is great!
I think it’s sweet but it does make me think of Chipmunks. Maybe you can try [name]Albin[/name]. It sounds very similar and means “white, fair one” and gets rid of the chipmunk thing. [name]Alvis[/name] might be good too, means “all wise, elf friend (same as [name]Alvin[/name])”. My favorite [name]AL[/name] names are:
Alastor (Greek spelling of Alastiar)
[name]Aldous[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name] (though I don’t like [name]Al[/name] as the nickname, it does work)
[name]Algernon[/name]
[name]Altair[/name]
[name]Alfie[/name], [name]Alasdair[/name], [name]Allen[/name]
That’s the only reason I love the name … [name]Alvin[/name] and the Chipmunks <3 Today’s generation doesn’t appreciate the Chipmunks like I did Anyways, I do love the name Alvin <3
