Thoughts please…[name]Desmond[/name] is another name I have started to like. Names I typically like are [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Lionel[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name], [name]August[/name], [name]Dexter[/name]…
[name]How[/name] do you think they fit in…as much as I love a lot of these names I have to remember that some day he is going to be a 20 year old man and I don’t want him to resent him for it. As much as I want my kids to be an individual, I don’t want them to be scarred becuase I named them [name]Clyde[/name] and they got wedgies their whole life! And yes, I love [name]Clyde[/name]/[name]Clive[/name] too.
I do live in a hipster area though but still, I brought up [name]Raphael[/name] and [name]Rafe[/name] to a couple of my dearest friends and they wrinkled their noses and one said “that’s really bad”!
[name]Just[/name] give me some thoughts please would love to hear suggestions! Thanks
I, too, love [name]Leo[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Dexter[/name], [name]August[/name] etc., and I’m personally thinking that [name]Desmond[/name] and [name]Ambrose[/name] are in their own category when compared to the other names. I think they’re very handsome, but I think I’d personally keep [name]Ambrose[/name] as a very cool middle name because it reminds me of the feminine [name]Amber[/name] and [name]Rose[/name].
Of the names you’ve listed, [name]Ambrose[/name] is the only name (as a first name) that I can associate with wedgies and dodge ball victimization on recess. Because you live in a hipster area, I think that [name]Clyde[/name]'s underwear will be spared from the dreaded wedgie. (I love [name]Clyde[/name]!)
I’m not feeling [name]Ambrose[/name]. I see [name]Ambrosia[/name] as in the salad and it looks feminine to me.
I love [name]Dexter[/name] ([name]Daxter[/name] too), [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Desmond[/name]. For what it’s worth I think that [name]Rafe[/name] is an ultra cool name and could stand alone as a first.

[name]Raphael[/name] reminds me of Raffa Nadal tennis star extradornaire! [name]Love[/name] it and Raffa as the nn is great, so don’t worry about the friends wrinkled noses at that one! Definitely one for the top of the list.
I don’t think any of the other ones on your list rate as highly.
[name]Theo[/name] would be the only one that I would keep apart from [name]Raphael[/name].

I personally really like [name]Ambrose[/name]. There is a comedy record I’ve heard with that name in it that is hilarious…I think we have similar tastes - here are some of mine:
I find [name]Ambrose[/name] intriguing but very serious; it’s difficult to imagine it on a child but the sound itself is appealing to me. Of the rest of the names you mentioned, I’m down with [name]Leo[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Raphael[/name] (not [name]Rafe[/name]) and maybe even [name]Ezra[/name] (that one would be more for the middle spot). I prefer all of these to [name]Clyde[/name].
I adore [name]Ambrose[/name], although I’m biased, I was going to be called [name]Ambrose[/name] if I was a boy after a doctor who saved my dad when he was a baby. Anyway I think it’s a perfect name as it won’t be outgrown and you can imagine a professor or a doctor or a lawyer being called [name]Ambrose[/name] so it can be taken seriously although not to serious for a little kid. A good nn might be [name]Ross[/name] too.
I’m not a fan of [name]Ambrose[/name], I don’t see it working while he’s growing up at all. I agree with pp that I can see it on a doctor or professor but I don’t really see it the whole time he’s becoming a professor–especially high school.
I like some of your other choices, though, and don’t see them in the same category with [name]Ambrose[/name] and [name]Clyde[/name]. [name]Dexter[/name] could be cute–[name]Dex[/name]–and I like [name]Raphael[/name], [name]Leo[/name], and [name]Desmond[/name]. I really like [name]August[/name] and don’t see the awkward potential of [name]Ambrose[/name] and [name]Clyde[/name].
Hey guys! I just came back to see the thread after being away and was stoked to see all of your responses. SO interesting, especially since I usually just respond to lists. So you know I’m not expecting right at the moment, but so great to hear what you think. I’ve been thinking about boys names A LOT lately.
I can’t wait to go through the lists y’all left and share my thoughts. I know the time and thought it takes to do these things so I just wanna say thanks. Now must go to bed. So tired. [name]Night[/name] night.
