What do you think of Ambrosia?

I’ve grown to really like this name recently, and I was wondering your opinions of it, specifically, how significant you consider the meaning which is ‘food of the gods’- does that make it unusable?

I like the nn potential - [name]Amber[/name], [name]Ambra[/name], [name]Rosi[/name], [name]Rosa[/name], [name]Bri[/name], [name]Bria[/name].
By itself it’s bit odd but it has an old style feel.

I immediately think of ambrosia salad. It doesn’t seem like a name to me (I know it is), but all I can think of is pudding.

It feels a little heavy for a name, if that makes sense. But boy, what great nickname options. [name]Rosie[/name] would be so cute.

I love the sound, but my connection to it is simply that [name]Ambrosia[/name] is the food of the Gods, so to me, it would be weird to name my daughter ‘Food of the Gods’ . I’m sure the Gods would get a laugh out of a little girl named “food”

So I guess to me it’s the same as naming your kid after food – [name]Apple[/name] and the like.

I quite like the name of [name]Ambrosia[/name]. I like that there are tons of nickname ideas available. [name]Amber[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Rosa[/name], [name]Rosie[/name], [name]Amy[/name].

I don’t really like it, as someone else mentioned, it reminds me of mythology, food of the gods…

I’m not a big fan, but I agree with above posters that the nickname potential is great! [name]How[/name] do you feel about [name]Ambrose[/name] on a boy? I don’t know why, but that feels more name like to me than the feminine version does.

It reminds me of the custard! I’m not a huge fan though I do love [name]Ambrose[/name] for a boy
