What do you think of Amelia Grace?

[name]Amelia[/name] is my husband’s grandmother’s name. My grandmother’s name is [name]Wilma[/name], and I thought about using [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Wilma[/name], but that doesn’t seem to flow, and [name]Wilma[/name] seems so outdated and I couldn’t think of any alternate names similar to [name]Wilma[/name] other than Wilhemina, [name]Willa[/name], and [name]Willow[/name], none of which I like. I chose [name]Grace[/name] as the middle name because it is one of my grandmother’s qualities, and it is a pretty name.
[name]Do[/name] you think that is a good way to honor her?
[name]Do[/name] you have any suggestions for a name based off of [name]Wilma[/name] that may sound prettier?
[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] flows well?
Is [name]Amelia[/name] too common to use? (websites say it is currently #30 in the US, but I’ve never met anyone with this name-my husband’s grandmother passed away before i met her)

Also, I was thinking ahead for potential sibsets. Other names that I like for girls are [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Rose[/name] (both also family names), [name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], and [name]Victoria[/name] (I could not think of mn for this one).
Which of these do you like the best?
Which sounds best with [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] (as that is my favorite so far)?
Is [name]Emma[/name] too close to [name]Amelia[/name], and too popular to even consider?
[name]Do[/name] you have any other suggestions of names similar in style-I like vintage and traditional names, but not ones that sound like they are only suitable for the elderly. Also, I like names with history; [name]Amelia[/name] ([name]Amelia[/name] [name]Earhart[/name]), [name]Elizabeth[/name] ([name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Blackwell[/name]), etc…
Thanks in advance for all the help and suggestions.

[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is so pretty, and I love the story behind the two names. Another idea: how about [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Wren[/name] instead of [name]Wilma[/name]? That way you can use a W middle name to honor your grandmother.

As for [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Emma[/name], I do think they are too close to use for sisters. I do love [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] together though, as well as [name]Victoria[/name]! Might I suggest [name]Clara[/name], also?

Sorry to say, I’m not sure where u live but in the uk it’s common, I know 5 amelias and three of them are [name]Amelia[/name] grace the other two are [name]Amelia[/name] rose. Although I do [name]LOVE[/name] that combo!
Another alternative is [name]Willabelle[/name] or Willamay or willsadendron ( that last one I made up)
Good luck!

I think [name]Amelia[/name] is lovely and not popular here in [name]Brooklyn[/name] among people that I know at least. Personally I find [name]Grace[/name] to be a bit bland, sorry! It feels like a filler name to me & while a beautiful quality I dislike the sound (I hear grease)

My suggestion
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Willow[/name]

Not usually a big fan of [name]Willow[/name] but it fits so well & doesn’t repeat the sounds of [name]Amelia[/name].

Or…
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Willoughby[/name]

If you’re worried about popularity I think this is so unique. It’s a street name near me.

[name]Amelia[/name] is great. [name]Grace[/name] is a filler. But overall, very nice name.

I think [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is lovely and [name]Grace[/name] is a lovely way to honor your grandmother. I think [name]Emma[/name] is a bit close for a sibling to [name]Amelia[/name], personally. I think [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Victoria[/name] are lovely choices. Here are some suggestions for siblings for [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Grace[/name].

[name]Victoria[/name] [name]Rose[/name](I think [name]Rose[/name] sounds better with [name]Victoria[/name] vs. [name]Elizabeth[/name])
[name]Victoria[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name] [name]Emmaline[/name] (maybe to include [name]Emma[/name]?)
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]

[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] sounds beautiful, great flow. I do think it’s very predictable, [name]Grace[/name] is such a filler, and when I here [name]Amelia[/name] I immediately think [name]Grace[/name].

I do not really see it as a real way of honoring your grandmother, if that is really important to you, I’d go with [name]Wilma[/name], I like it and she would have one very modern name, so I don’t think having [name]Wilma[/name] as a middle will be a problem. I like it.
If someone would tell me they honored me by calling their child, I don’t know, maybe wisdom or whatever because they think I’m smart I wouldn’t really have the “named after me” feeling. And especially with [name]Grace[/name], since it is such a filler name, I can’t see it.

It depends: if you want the general public to immediately make a connection between your daughter, [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Grace[/name], and her great-grandmother [name]Wilma[/name], well, they won’t. But every time YOU see her name, it will call your grandmother to mind, and make you smile.

I understand you not caring for [name]Willa[/name], [name]Willow[/name] or [name]Wilma[/name] itself. You seem to prefer classic feminine names-- names in use for centuries, with no default associations. There aren’t many W- names that fit the bill; perhaps:

[name]Wendy[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Whitney[/name]
Willona
[name]Winsome[/name]
[name]Wisteria[/name]
– and my favorite, [name]Wynne[/name].

[name]Wynne[/name] is a soft, gentle Welsh name meaning “fair” which, to my ear, sounds beautiful with [name]Amelia[/name]. It’s unexpected and does not strike me as a filler. It might honor your grandmother more directly, while still calling her fine qualities to mind.

[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Wynne[/name]…

Thank you for your help, i appreciate the suggestions

I love the name [name]Amelia[/name].
