I really [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Brighton[/name] for a girl. I think its really really cute, but I’m afraid to use it. Thoughts?
It is a cute name; however, in my opinion, I just really like it a lot better for a boy. If it is what you love, though, go for it. It is very cute and classy!
Yeah I like it better for a boy, for a girl it just seems unattractive to me.
I know 2 boys with the name [name]Brighton[/name], one about 13, the other, 3 (and dangerously cute). I can’t see it on a girl because of them.
I like it for a boy. The only [name]Brighton[/name] I know is a boy, so I can’t imagine it on a girl.

When I first hear it I think it sounds like a last name, then I think it sounds like a boy name, but I think it could be passable for a girl.
Fer: The “bright” is nice and peppy.
agin: It does strike a male chord.
also, my high school was named [name]Brighton[/name]. [name]Said[/name] with a [name]Utah[/name] accent, it sounds like Bry-un.
It’s not horrible, but you can find better.
I see no problem with using [name]Brighton[/name] for a girl, especially if you love it. After all, It’s very “in” right now to name your little girl a name traditionally reserved for that of a little boy.
Examples: [name]Spencer[/name], [name]Carter[/name], [name]Cameron[/name], [name]Jordan[/name], [name]Payton[/name] ([name]Peyton[/name]), [name]Reese[/name], and [name]Taylor[/name].
I didn’t know there was a [name]Utah[/name] accent! What’s it like?
[name]Brighton[/name] makes me think of the city only. I also think the “-ton” gives it a defnitelymasculine appeal.
That being said, I think “just” [name]Bright[/name] is beautiful and much unexpected.
[name]Brighton[/name] is really very very cute and sweet for a girl. I think, you should use it for your baby girl and make her a unique identity.
[name]Love[/name] the suggestion of [name]Bright[/name] for a girl! I also think of [name]Brighton[/name] as a boys name, but [name]Bright[/name] seems like a [name]Bree[/name]/[name]Blair[/name]/[name]Brenna[/name] type girls name. I think [name]Bright[/name] could really work - it’s very cute
Its funny you say this because I’m actually from [name]Utah[/name], living in [name]Utah[/name]. lol I actually didn’t hear it from your high school, I heard it from a girls list on youtube. But I don’t know if I can use it because of the high school, now that you mention it.
[name]Brighton[/name] is a big town in the UK, part of [name]Brighton[/name] and Hove in the south. I’ve never been, but I know people who have and they seem to like it. (Brighton - Wikipedia) I really like the nn [name]Bright[/name].
YES!—Exactly!
I’ve never heard of the name [name]Brighton[/name] before, and to me it sounds masculine.
[name]Bright[/name] is very cute. I loved [name]Rainbow[/name] [name]Brite[/name] as a kid; maybe that’s why I instinctively like “[name]Bright[/name]”.
It would be an especially rebounding middle name. Very peppy!
[name]Utah[/name] accent: hard R’s on everything, vowels are flattened into a homogenous schwa, and endings of names are swallowed or run-together.
The stereotypical examples of a [name]Utah[/name] example include calling a creek a “crick”, people taking the “fark” in the road, and going to a dealership to get a good “dill” on a car.
My [name]Utah[/name]-native father likes “Were you barn in a born?”
The swallowing of consanants on the ends of words in [name]Utah[/name] is done in the [name]Valley[/name]-Girl style. My high school, frex, was “[name]Bri[/name]-un on the mow-un whar people ski”. ([name]Brighton[/name] on the mountain where people ski.)
I recall a lot of references to [name]Brighton[/name] in [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] books, and if one is going to name a girl after a place in ye olde [name]Albion[/name], [name]Brighton[/name] is certainly a better choice than Lyme or Bath. (Oooh! Are those officers I see??)
I really love [name]Brighton[/name], but as the others have said, I vastly prefer it for a boy. I can’t really imagine [name]Brighton[/name] on a girl at all, sorry. I do think it could work, though.
It could work for a girl. I don’t love it for either gender and have only known of boys named [name]Brighton[/name], but there is a jewelry company with the name [name]Brighton[/name] so I always think of that when I hear the name which can make it more feminine. I think a little girl can pull it off and make it adorable.
I think it would work better on a girl than a boy, but that’s my personal opinion. I’d be happy to see it used, male or female. I think it’s adorable Good luck.
