I like [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] nn [name_m]Topher[/name_m] but [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] doesn’t have the greatest flow. I would find a different middle name.
[name_u]Alex[/name_u], [name_m]Mac[/name_m] and [name_m]Topher[/name_m] (or [name_u]Kit[/name_u] or [name_m]Kester[/name_m]) sound like the perfect candidates for many grand adventures together.
I love the sincerity, wholesomeness and good heartedness of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. It’s my favourite classical name, - a strong, solid choice.
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] is sweet, but Not as melodic as say: [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Steven[/name_m], [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m], [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Drew[/name_u]
I actually think [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] flows very nicely. After reading your last post, I know you want to have the middle name [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] for family reasons.
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] doesn’t seem like you tried squeezing [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] in as a middle name on the last second either. They balance each other well.
“[name_m]Kester[/name_m]” and “[name_u]Kit[/name_u]” are both great nicknames. Maybe just wait until the baby is born to see which nickname suits him more? I’m sure once you choose, others will follow and not use the nickname “[name_u]Chris[/name_u]”.
Please ignore my no vote. For a second I thought that [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] was your last name. I don’t like the flow of [name_m]Topher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], but [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] Lastname works.
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] sounds fine, but [name_u]Chris[/name_u] is inevitable.
I love [name_m]Topher[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. I don’t [name_u]Chris[/name_u] will happen at all if you introduce him as [name_m]Topher[/name_m]; we use a less common nickname for my son and everyone either calls him by his formal name or our nickname for him, never the more-expected nickname.
I like it. [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is a classic, and [name_m]Topher[/name_m] is a great quirky nickname to make it feel fresh.
I don’t like the name or the nickname. I don’t have good associations with it. I like [name_u]Kit[/name_u], but I think “[name_u]Chris[/name_u]” would be the go-to nickname.
[name_m]Topher[/name_m] is the sweetest! It’s my second favorite nickname for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] ([name_u]Kit[/name_u] is my favorite!)
I think you can absolutely avoid [name_u]Chris[/name_u], if you introduce him as [name_m]Topher[/name_m] (and eventually hell do the introducing)
I know plenty of Christophers, and a bunch of them go by their full name instead of [name_u]Chris[/name_u]. So I think he doesnt have to be [name_u]Chris[/name_u] if you dont want him to be.
I actually dont mind [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m]! It doesnt have the best flow, but it still works.
I also really love [name_u]Alex[/name_u], [name_m]Mac[/name_m], and [name_m]Topher[/name_m] as brothers. It sounds like a perfect sibset!!
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] flows nicely, I like it. Complete honesty, I really don’t like the nickname [name_m]Topher[/name_m], it really bugs me. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nickname [name_u]Kit[/name_u]! It would be refreshing to meet a boy named [name_u]Kit[/name_u].
I share this same sentiment. [name_m]Topher[/name_m] feels like a high school nickname you wish you didn’t have. It just feels silly for some reason. I know one person that goes by his name and I always think “Gopher” when I hear someone say his name. Sorry! I love the suggestion of [name_u]Kit[/name_u]! It feels fresh and new.
I have to agree on all counts of the ‘[name_m]Topher[/name_m]’ just sounds silly votes. It truly does, I’ve only ever heard of this being used as a nickname once… and that was as a nickname/handle in a chat room. I later found out that the users actual name was [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], and he just used the ‘[name_m]Topher[/name_m]’ part for chatting online. I didn’t think people actually used it as a real shortened version for the name [name_m]Christopher[/name_m].
If you like, [name_u]Kit[/name_u], I think just go with that. It seems fine on it’s own to me, and flows nicely with your other children’s names (are they also nicknames, or just short, spunky, stand alone names)?
I think as much as I feel [name_m]Topher[/name_m] is silly, if you love [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], [name_u]Chris[/name_u] is the best version of a a nickname in my opinion. [name_u]Kit[/name_u] works, but I would never make the association of it being short for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], I’d just think his name was actually [name_u]Kit[/name_u].
My opinion on this is probably stronger than usual, as I’m really not fond of the name [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] at all, but since you love it, I say go for it, but don’t use [name_m]Topher[/name_m] as the nickname. It really just sounds silly and made up.
