What do you think of the name [name]Delphine[/name] or [name]Delphina[/name]? I am not pregnant right now but came across this name and really like it. I am always keeping my eye out for great names bc we are still debating a third. Let me know what you think and which one you prefer. Thanks! You all helped me so much with my daughter’s name.
It’s [name]Kitty[/name]!!! [name]How[/name]'ve you been? I love both names, but I love [name]Delphine[/name] more. I think it’s gorgeous, and I love it with [name]Scarlett[/name].
Have a good night!
Yes, I love both names, too, and I love [name]Delphine[/name] the most. So much character.
[name]Delphine[/name] is prettier, but it’s more awkward to say outloud.
But I do like it more.
they make me think ‘dolphin’ or ‘dauphin of france’ - i don’t know i really don’t see the appeal of this name, it must be over my head
Hey [name]Jill[/name]. I’m glad you like the name. Things have been going well. [name]Scarlett[/name] is 5 months now. I have to say, I am so happy I went with the mn [name]Ruth[/name]. I feel it just makes the name [name]Scarlett[/name] seem even more classy and vintagey (I know [name]Scarlett[/name] is technically not a vintage name).
Anyway, of course I have already been keeping a running list just in case we go for that third. That’s what all true name fans do…right? I am upset b/c DH doesn’t like [name]Fiona[/name]. It’s my top pick right for a girl name. He says he can’t get past the “[name]Fiona[/name] [name]Apple[/name]” association. Blah. So, anyway I was reading about a famous polo player in [name]Argentina[/name] and his wife’s name was [name]Delfina[/name]. I thought it was so pretty. My husband prefers the french ending and the [name]Delphin[/name] spelling. I really like the name but was wondering what people thought about it. Especially, do you think she will be called “Dolphin” the rest of her life like one poster mentioned?
I know it has a flower and dolphin meaning / association…which I really like. Although, I wouldn’t want it to be a source of name calling or have everyone automatically see Dolphin when they look at the name. Anyway, just curious what everyone thinks. Everytime I come across a great name, I come back to the name “bible”. Thanks!
I love [name]Delphina[/name]! I also adore the nn [name]Della[/name] or [name]Delphie[/name].
[name]Delphine[/name] is beautiful! [name]Delphina[/name] is okay, but I love [name]Delphine[/name]!
I prefer [name]Delphine[/name] - so rich and sumptuous, just like [name]Scarlett[/name]! The nn [name]Della[/name] is adorable.
I adore both, but I think I prefer [name]Delphine[/name]! I also love it as a middle.
I can’t believe she’s 5 months now! I love her name so much, and for what it’s worth, [name]Scarlett[/name] does seem really vintage to me! I love it!
I personally think of delphiniums before I think I dolphins when I hear of see [name]Delphine[/name] or [name]Delphina[/name]/[name]Delfina[/name], but that’s just me. I also love the potential [name]Della[/name] nickname of both [name]Delphine[/name] and [name]Delphina[/name].
Take care!
I’m not bothered by the associations. No way… is this too much for a real person. French from Greek, not easy to find something unappealing with that.
I absolutely love [name]Delphine[/name]! She’s one my very favorites. And [name]Delphine[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] are wonderful together. I prefer the [name]Delfina[/name] spelling if you go that route. But I much prefer [name]Delphine[/name].
Another vote for [name]Delphine[/name] Such a pretty name
I love [name]Delphine[/name]! I am a little biased, as that is my daughter’s name. We always get compliments on it.
I think [name]Delphina[/name] is more my style. [name]Delphine[/name] would be my choice, if it were a middle name.
I agree, [name]Della[/name] would be absolutely precious as a nickname, especially with a sister named [name]Scarlett[/name].
