Any honest feedback on the names [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] and [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] used for either twin girls or two sisters.
Thank you very much:grin:
I like [name_u]Dallas[/name_u], it’s very on trend with the new place names popping up. [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is not really my style, but I do think it balances out [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] well because [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is super girly and sweet while [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] to me sounds unisex and stronger. Together they are super [name_u]Southern[/name_u] sounding, but I’m assuming you went for that on purpose. They also both have strong associations (Dolly [name_m]Parton[/name_m], and [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] the city) but I’m also assuming you chose them for that reason, or at least with that in mind already.
I’m not a huge fan of either name personally. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not my style. They seem like similar vibes though so I could see them working well as siblings. They’re too close together for twins in my opinion!
love love love dallas on a girl, but dolly to me seems more ‘vintage’ (?) and doesn’t really work as a fn with dallas. what about dahlia nn dolly? dahlia and dallas are adorable, though one girly one not. same thing with dolly and dallas though so i don’t think you’d find that as an issue right?
Being honest, I don’t love them together.
I find them at the same time too matchy (Doll + Dall is just too close soundwise for siblings for me), but also mismatched in terms of vibe — one a super-sweet, super-girly vintage nickname, the other a modern, androgynous place name.
I do think [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] is quite cool for a girl though! [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is just too cutesy for me.
I like [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]. It’s sweet and charming. [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] has a cool, fresh feel
I love both! I love [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] because it’s sweet but not overly cutesy, and it reminds me of [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_m]Parton[/name_m] which is far from a bad association. I like [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] too, it feels trendy but it’s not over used and I picture a very kind little kid, however I can’t really see it on a girl. I don’t love them as twin names personally, I just think they are a little to stylistically different, but that’s just me.
I’m not crazy about them as a pair, just sounds a little too similar imo. Especially given the typical long forms for Dolly, Dahlia and Dolores, sound even more like Dallas!
If you’re very set on matching initials, I would shoot for a little diversity in the other strong consonants in the names or get some variation in the length and syllable count.

Either, but not both.
Actually, love these! They don’t necessarily got together to me because they’re of such different eras… but I think they actually sound quite cute as a pair!
I don’t love how [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is so much more feminine sounding than [name_u]Dallas[/name_u]. Otherwise I like them together a lot. Maybe as a girl boy twin set.
I agree with katinka. Very similar sounds and very different styles. Don’t love them, sorry
