I have loved the name Gracen, for a girl, for several years. We are considering Gracen [name]Elizabeth[/name] for our baby girl. What do you think!
[name]Welcome[/name] to Nameberry and congratulations on your baby girl. I’m afraid I don’t like Gracen at all- the n seems unnecessary and it makes the name clunky. I’m curious why you don’t like [name]Grace[/name]? Is it too popular?
Gracen [name]Elizabeth[/name] is adorable… The drawback is that without seeing it spelled out most people will assume it is the boys name, [name]Greyson[/name], since that is so popular. Good luck!
[name]Welcome[/name] to Nameberry!
It took me a minute to read over it and decide what I think, I actually like it quite a bit. The only thing I’d consider is how it flows with your last name. [name]Just[/name] because you don’t want it to sound choppy is all.
Congratulations!
Not a fan of Gracen. If you like the sound of [name]Grayson[/name], just use that name. I know a female [name]Grayson[/name] in her 20’s. I much prefer using surnames for girls than a creative spelling like Mattisyn or Emmorie.
I really do not like Gracen at all…it ruins a gorgeous, timeless name IMHO. [name]Grace[/name] is perfect on it’s own - adding the N makes me think trendy and teen momish. Sorry!!!
It looks like a typo of [name]Grace[/name] and sounds masculine.
I love it. I first heard it on a little girl when I worked latchkey and she was so nice and polite.
I’d stick with [name]Grace[/name] or spell it [name]Grayson[/name]/[name]Greyson[/name]. Not a fan of the spelling, it doesn’t look right to me.
I have to agree with this. I don’t like [name]Gracen[/name] at all…I find it quite tacky, actually. Sorry!
I prefer [name]Grace[/name], [name]Greyson[/name], or [name]Gracelyn[/name] to [name]Gracen[/name]. Good luck!!
This exactly! [name]Grace[/name] is beautiful why not use it instead of a trashy name like [name]Gracen[/name]?
Yeah… [name]Grace[/name] is beautiful. [name]Gracen[/name] just reminds me of [name]Grayson[/name].
[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Gracen[/name]. It was one of the girls names we had picked out. Except we were going to spell it Graycen. Instead we had a boy and named him Grayden.
I’m sorry I have to agree with the others. I love [name]Grace[/name] for a girl and I like [name]Greyson[/name] for a boy.
I like the general concept of the name, and the two flow well together… however, I am a bit biased - my name is [name]Grace[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name], so it’s only two letters off! [name]Gracen[/name] sounds a bit too much like [name]Grayson[/name] to me, which I suppose could be a girl name, but sounds more dominantly male. [name]Just[/name] adding the n on the end looks a little strange, but maybe Gracyn or Graysin would work better and be a bit more feminine?
or you could use something like Gracelin or [name]Gracelynn[/name]?
Gracelin or [name]Gracelynn[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
Gracyn
I like it and I think others will warm up to it. [name]Grace[/name] is a very popular name and your choice seems to have some freshness to it. the “n” ending makes it seem grounded which is a nice balance to the more girlish [name]Elizabeth[/name] middle name. I think it pairs really well together and know of several GIRLS that are named grayson and gracin. [name]Don[/name]'t let total strangers talk you out of a name you love!
I might add, I find several of the names listed in the signatures of the commenters to be quite trashy - but would never denounce their choices. To each his own. Lets remember to have a little class when answering the inquiries of our fellow berries.
The OP asked for advice on total strangers. On Nameberry, there are heated discussions on unisex names- mainly boy turned girl names- and the general consensus is that boys’ names should be correctly spelled and stay on the right gender.
My two cents is that [name]Gracen[/name] looks trendy and kry8tiv. I do know a female [name]Gracen[/name] who HATES her name because everyone expects her to be a guy. At summer camp, she was put into the boys’ cabins. She gets a lot of grief and plans on changing it legally to [name]Grace[/name] when she’s eighteen.
I often see [name]Elizabeth[/name] stuck in as a filler to make a boyish name more feminine. I know a [name]Bond[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Addison[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]River[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Piper[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I also know three girls named [name]Grace[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name].
Most likely, people will also see it as an attempt to feminize [name]Grayson[/name]- which means ‘son of [name]Gray[/name]’- than a modernization of [name]Grace[/name].
While we have different naming styles, I hope these will be of help to you:
Hopelyn
[name]Graziella[/name]
[name]Gracelyn[/name]
[name]Fay[/name]
[name]Gracia[/name]/[name]Graciana[/name]
[name]Gray[/name] (I prefer this on a boy, but technically it’s gender neutral, and I can see it on a girl)
