• [name]Harper[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]
• [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]
(Yes, both for boys. I’m well aware of the whole “they’ll be teased for having a girl’s name” argument [Yahoo Answers. What can you expect, really] so I’d prefer comments on the actual names rather than possible teasing potential. Thanks )
I prefer [name]Aubrey[/name] on a boy much more than [name]Harper[/name]. I tried to talk DH into [name]Aubrey[/name] for DS #2, but he wasn’t having it.
I prefer [name]Aubrey[/name]. [name]Harper[/name] is extremely overused right now. I noticed on my facebook there have been 4 baby girls named [name]Harper[/name] and one boy with that name in the past year (out of my close group of 200 friends) That is a huge percentage of people naming their child that.
I don’t see them being teased for either name - [name]Harper[/name] can definitely go either way and I have known more boy Aubreys than girls.
Maybe your DH would go for [name]Auden[/name] or Auben - they are similar to [name]Aubrey[/name].
For me, [name]Harper[/name] is all boy, though [name]Aubrey[/name] is unisex. I like the combo [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name], but not [name]Harper[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]. [name]Harper[/name] [name]Nathan/name would be cute if possible.
I love both so I can’t choose one.
I’d say [name]Aubrey[/name] maybe a bit trendy but it is more familiar as a boy name. [name]Harper[/name] has a more masculine sound but since it’s not as well-known for it’s use on boys it’s a bit more daring than [name]Aubrey[/name]. I’ve known boy and girl [name]Aubrey[/name]'s but no [name]Harper[/name]'s yet.
Unfortunately I can’t use [name]Aubrey[/name] since it’s my cousin’s name, and if he has a son I’m pretty sure he’ll be [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Jr[/name]. I can’t stand [name]Harper[/name] on a girl (makes me think of harpie) but love it for a boy so it’s on my list
[name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] is my favorite. I really like [name]Harper[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] but prefer [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] because it feels more balanced. [name]Aubrey[/name] also has kind of a Western/cowboy vibe to it, and I like that.
I was thinking “I prefer [name]Aubrey[/name] on a boy” before I realized it was in the boys section! Are you in Australia by chance? Lately, I’ve seen more birth announcements with boys named [name]Harper[/name] than I have here in the States. I think I actually prefer the name for a boy.
I like [name]Harper[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] more than [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name].
I like both, but I prefer [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]. It flows nicely.
I like [name]Aubrey[/name]. I find it pleasing to the ear. [name]Harper[/name], I don’t like on either a boy or a girl. It reminds me of the Prime Minister here in [name]Canada[/name], which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it is just too strong of an association.
I don’t care for [name]Harper[/name] on a boy or a girl, although your combination is nice.
I love [name]Aubrey[/name] on a boy though! It’s lovely. I’d personally switch up the combos though, [name]Harper[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] and [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] are better to me.
[name]Aubrey[/name] is one of my pet favorite names for boys. I don’t like [name]Harper[/name] for either sex.
[name]Both[/name] gone to the girls.
I love Harper so so much and I would probably use it if it weren’t so popular on girls right now. I actually knew a male Harper in high school, he was very handsome and nice so it’s definitely a good association. Aubrey is handsome but it’s probably not something I’d use. I think the combinations are nice, Harper Samuel is a little choppy though something like Harper Nicholas, Harper Matthias, Harper Solomon, or even Harper James would work better, something with 3 or 1 syllables. I do like the feeling Harper Samuel gives me though if that makes sense. Aubrey Nathaniel is perfect, I like how the middle name is clearly male so it balances it out a little.
I never go on yahoo answers anymore I feel like you hardly ever get a well thought out or educated answer {at least for the baby name section}!
Ugh… Really??? I don’t like them for boys
Yes, I’m from Queensland. To be honest I’ve only heard of [name]Harper[/name] on a kid here once, who was a boy.
I like their middle names.
I really like [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]. It works really well.
My grandpa’s name was [name]Aubrey[/name]. He was [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Douglas[/name]. I always thought it was a handsome choice by his mother; he went by [name]Douglas[/name] though.
As much as I love [name]Audrey[/name] as a girl’s name (it’s at the top of my girls’ list), [name]Aubrey[/name] is ALL boy to me and so so handsome. I read a book once with a female [name]Aubrey[/name] and tried to love it on a girl as much as I love [name]Audrey[/name], but I couldn’t make it happen. It just sounds so masculine to me. [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] is perfect. So handsome, masculine, classic. [name]Love[/name] it!
Although I hate to say it, [name]Harper[/name] is all girl to me, though I don’t like it and would never use it on a girl. I blame my lack of exposure to any male Harpers before I started hearing it on girls. I’m reading a book now with [name]Harper[/name] as the main make character, so maybe when I’m finished with that I’ll like it better on a boy. I have to admit books hold a lot of sway over me.
[name]LOVE[/name] these for boys. I know of a little newborn [name]Harper[/name] who is a boy! He was born in [name]January[/name] I think!
I would love to see more boy [name]Aubrey[/name] and Harpers
I love both [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Aubrey[/name] for boys, but I vastly prefer [name]Harper[/name]. I love the idea of a little boy named [name]Harper[/name]! It’s so adorable. I love [name]Harper[/name] [name]Samuel[/name], too. [name]Nathaniel[/name]'s not so much my cup of tea, so I don’t like [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] quite so much. Still nice names, though.
