What do you think of Jonathan Andrew and Nathaniel Drake?

[name]Hi[/name] all,

It’s [name]John[/name] and we posted last night about name suggestions. We wouldn’t normally be so hurried in picking names but we found out about the pregnancy rather late (that in itself is a long story). Our surrogate is due within the next two months and we need time to decorate the nursery and things, so we’d like to have names picked for the twins.

The two names we really like right now are:
These names are after our own fathers (we added [name]Drake[/name] as a middle because someone pointed out that [name]Jonny[/name] would have a link to me, and [name]Nate[/name] wouldn’t)
[name]Jonathan[/name] [name]Andrew[/name] ([name]Jonny[/name])
[name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Drake[/name] ([name]Nate[/name])

[name]Drake[/name] really loves [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] and [name]Darby[/name] [name]Andres[/name] but I don’t particularly like these, what do you think?

The boys will accompany an older sister, [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Rose[/name], so we’re searching for names that go well with hers.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Congratulations! My partner and I are also knee deep in the twins name debate.

I think both jonathan andrew and nathaniel drake work extremely well together, and pair well with olivia rose. Of all the names listed, [name]Darby[/name] [name]Andres[/name] feels like the odd man out - something about it doesn’t feel like it fits as well with the others.

However, jonathan andres or sullivan drake or nathaniel darby might be ways to work names together from both your lists.

I hope you post a message when your twins are here and named. It’s nice to see another pair of dads on here. Best of luck.

Congrats on your twins! I love combo [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Drake[/name] but I’m lukewarm to [name]Jonathan[/name] [name]Andrew[/name] for these reasons: (1) [name]Jonathan[/name] has never been a favorite of mine as it sounds kind of wimpy; (2) [name]Jonathan[/name] is too similar to [name]Nathan[/name] and (3) [name]Jonathan[/name] ends in “an” and [name]Andrew[/name] begins with an “an” so the flow is not the best. I’ve always loved [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Solomon[/name] or [name]Oliver[/name] with [name]Nathaniel[/name]. You could always use [name]Jonathan[/name] or just [name]John[/name] (one syllable like [name]Drake[/name]) in the middle spot. Good luck to you, [name]Mischa[/name].

I think these are both really solid choices. While the folks here on nameberry notice subtleties like [name]Jonathan[/name] having “[name]Nathan[/name]” in it, most people won’t (plus, it isn’t pronounced the same way). If anything, it gives them a neat link to one another without being twinny.

[name]Jonathan[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] flow really nicely together and both have multiple nickname possibilities if you decide at the last minute you don’t like the ones you chose. [name]Both[/name] names are classic and shouldn’t cause confusion or teasing.

Your other options are nice, but definitely take you out of the traditional names ballpark, if that’s something you want to consider.

If you feel strongly about these names and have a good feeling about them, then they’re right! Good luck to both of you!

[name]Sullivan[/name] and [name]Darby[/name] are now vetoed. It was especially hard to convince [name]Drake[/name] of this, but his namecrush has subsided, at least for now.

Besides, we both agreed that [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name], and [name]Darby[/name] don’t sound as nice as [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], and [name]Jonathan[/name].

We still aren’t completely sure about [name]Jonathan[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name], but I really love the pairing. We aren’t sure that [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Drake[/name] goes well with our last name though.

Oh well, we’ll figure it out.

Thanks for all of your help!
