[name]Hi[/name] Berries, at the end we decided to name our DD [name]Kate[/name] [name]Gabriella[/name], but our friends started asking us why we name her [name]Kate[/name] rather than complimenting on the name. So what do you think of [name]Kate[/name] [name]Gabriella[/name]?
It’s a bit disconnected imho. [name]Gabriella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] flows better to me.
[name]Kate[/name] is a great name however, I like it a lot. It’s extremely familiar but not that used.
I agree with @east93, I think [name]Gabriella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] would flow better. I think [name]Gabriella[/name]'s a really pretty name!
There is nothing wrong with [name]Kate[/name] [name]Gabriella[/name] but, I do want to add something on with [name]Kate[/name]. I think it might be because I’ll always seen [name]Kate[/name] used as a hyphen name ([name]Sara[/name]-[name]Kate[/name]) or middle name ([name]Gabriella[/name] [name]Kate[/name]).
Has your daughter been born already? I’m shocked that people (especially friends) question it; that seems bizarre. Personally, I think [name]Kate[/name] [name]Gabriella[/name] is a beautiful name and I love the name [name]Kate[/name]. Although I can see the argument that [name]Gabriella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] flows better, I think it all depends on your last name, and not knowing that, I don’t think any of us can accurately comment on the flow. (I’m not trying to elicit your last name – I’m just saying keep that in mind when reading comments.) Are you bothered to the point of changing it? Does your little girl feel like a [name]Kate[/name]? I’m just wondering if there’s more to it than just your friends questioning.
[name]Kate[/name] [name]Gabriella[/name] is beautiful. I actually prefer to see a one syllable first name with a longer middle name instead of a long first name with a one syllable middle name. If your daughter’s name were [name]Gabriella[/name] [name]Kate[/name], [name]Kate[/name] would feel like filler. I really like the simplicity of [name]Kate[/name] paired with the romantic flow of [name]Gabriella[/name].
I think its a beautiful name and you should not worry about anybody’s reactions. [name]Kate[/name] is a great first name and [name]Gabriella[/name] flows beautifully with it!
I think [name]Kate[/name] [name]Gabriella[/name] is beautiful. I would go with [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Gabriella[/name] and just call her [name]Kate[/name] for short if it were up to me, but either way, I love it. I love [name]Gabriella[/name] as a middle name.
Thanks Berries. We have a 1 syllable last name start with W. I agreed with Southern.[name]Maple[/name] about having a one syllable first name and a longer middle name with our one syllable last name. Yeah our daughter is born, and when all the nurses and most friends asked about her name and we said “[name]Kate[/name]”, they’re like “okay”…and I’m quite annoyed by their reactions…anyways…
I love [name]Katherine[/name], but my DH doesn’t like it. He wants to have a simple first name rather than names with nicknames.
I actually love it! I think it flows beautifully. [name]Don[/name]'t let anyone change your mind if you guys love it. you will never please everyone but I think it’s lovely.
I’d go with Katerine [name]Gabriella[/name] and call her [name]Kate[/name]. It gives her more latitude.
Also thinking that I would be OK with [name]Gabriella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] the balance is better - but then you won’t get your [name]Kate[/name].

Sheena12: I love [name]Katherine[/name]! and I’ve been persuading my DH to name her [name]Katherine[/name] with nn [name]Kate[/name]. But maybe he has a friend called [name]Katherine[/name] who he doesn’t like much and this name always associated with her, he’s pretty against using this name. But he does love [name]Kate[/name] though.
[name]Don[/name]'t let everyone else’s seemingly negative reactions deter you! I think it’s a lovely name, and you should be happy with your choices.
