What do you think of Mark?

[name_m]Mark[/name_m] is a name I never hear being talked about on Nameberry, but I’ve always liked it. I think it has a lot going for it - it is short, strong and straight forward. It is classic and has a rich history but it still sound fresh. I feel like it could easily fit anyone of any age, and as a bonus it’s not really that popular nowadays.
So… what do you guys think of [name_m]Mark[/name_m]?

It’s my brothers name and brother in law’s name. I think it is a great name that everyone knows but is not popular these days, so original. I agree with you, short, friendly, strong and fits any age.

I’m glad someone else feels the way I do - I’m finding it really hard to find boys’ names I like at the moment but [name_m]Mark[/name_m] seems to fit the bill!

A friend of mine just named her baby [name_m]Mark[/name_m] and I quite like it. It’s a name that will age well, unlike a lot of names people give their kids nowadays. After all, a baby will spend more of his life as an adult than as a baby haha.

I like it, too, but I adore it when it’s spoken with a British accent (Mah-k). Sooooo divine! It just doesn’t have the same pep when said with my boring old Midwestern accent

Can’t say I’m a fan…it was overused in the 70’s-'80’s, and I think we need a longer break from [name_m]Mark[/name_m].

I love mark/[name_m]Marc[/name_m] but will probably use [name_m]Marcus[/name_m]

I’m not a fan of it as it feels dated but it would be refreshing to hear a baby/toddler named [name_m]Mark[/name_m].

I too find it quite dated. Sorry.

I find it somewhat humdrum, though I like [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] and the Polish form [name_m]Marek[/name_m] a lot.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it. I had a lovely boyfriend named [name_m]Mark[/name_m] in college.

I like [name_m]Mark[/name_m]. I think it is friendly and approachable. I wouldn’t use it myself since I have a cousin named [name_m]Marco[/name_m] (who I don’t particularly like) and a crazy uncle named [name_m]Mark[/name_m]. But it is nice and refreshing to see on a younger kid since I only know older ones. It is like [name_m]Paul[/name_m] in that way, they’re familiar and classic, but not being used a lot right now. I like it.

Ooh, now that you mention it, [name_m]Mark[/name_m] has a really nice sound (I literally just had to type sound three times there, ‘douns’ is apparently not a viable equivalent) - I would love it with a slightly more adventurous middle name, just to shake things up a bit.

[name_m]Mark[/name_m] is my best friends dads name, not sure if I would ever use it but would think it was cool to meet a baby boy named [name_m]Mark[/name_m]
