Lately I’ve been attacking the heck out of my girl list. I have no idea why. Maybe because I’m trying to find the perfect honor name for my sister, without using her name so I’m just looking at my list a lot. But I don’t know. I made a list of my girl names without the ones that have been bugging me lately and seeing how I feel about that. But for right now, without telling you which ones have been bugging me, What do you think of my girl list? I just added a few new ones, and I moved some middle names around as well.
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] – [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]!!! [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] are on my own list, and this combo is so perfectly balanced and beautiful.
[name_f]Aubree[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] – Slightly awkward to say, maybe because of the B and V sounds?
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] – Very romantic! Classic but trendy.
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] – I might like something more delicate paired with [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], but again, both of these names are on my own list, and I’m so excited to see someone else using [name_f]Audra[/name_f]!
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] – While I like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] paired with [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], it also feels a little trendy/expected. Maybe a traditional name that’s more uncommon—[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]? [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] ([name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f])? [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]?
[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] – [name_u]Love[/name_u]! Sort of mysterious vibes from this combo. Digging the nature theme.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] – Strong combo.
[name_f]Cleona[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] – [name_f]Cleona[/name_f] is not my favorite name, but I like it with [name_u]Jean[/name_u]. [name_u]Jean[/name_u] brings [name_f]Cleona[/name_f] down to earth a bit.
[name_f]Davina[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] – Not loving the way these two names sound together—I think it’s the repeated -na Na-.
Elleanora [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Allean[/name_f] – A bit of a mouthful with all the L’s, N’s and R’s…
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] – Simple and elegant!
Ezrie [name_f]Violet[/name_f] – Ezrie is a new name to me, but sound-wise, I like the way the harsh -zr sound is balanced out by [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. Very appealing combo!
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] – [name_u]Love[/name_u]!
[name_f]Jayda[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Storm[/name_u] – [name_f]Jayda[/name_f] is NMS, but this combo has a good rhythm—just not sure I like these names together. [name_f]Louise[/name_f] sticks out a bit. Maybe a different traditional name…? Something with more punch or quirkiness, like [name_f]Naomi[/name_f].
[name_f]Lacie[/name_f] [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] – Feels very trendy, but they sound good together.
[name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] – Ditto.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] – I like this OK! [name_f]Renae[/name_f] has a nice grounding effect on [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] – I like both of these names, but together it’s too many of the same sounds—tough to say.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Maja[/name_f] – Like this one OK! Prefer the [name_f]Maya[/name_f] spelling.
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] – Ooh, this is so spunky. [name_u]Love[/name_u]!!
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f] – I don’t share others’ enchantment with [name_f]Lux[/name_f], but this is a smart, sleek combo.
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] – Like!
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f] – [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like the -a A- in the middle here, and would prefer the [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] spelling, which seems more timeless, to pair with the sophisticated [name_f]Vera[/name_f].
Xavia [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] – Another name that’s new to me. I’m liking this combo too!
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] – Very trendy and expected, though tonally they complement each other. [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] would be a little more unexpected, or [name_f]Zora[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f], etc.
My favorites are [name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f].
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u]:
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] a flawless, incredibly beautiful name
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] - [name_f]Audra[/name_f] is not my style but it’s beautiful in this combo, it sounds like a fairy or mermaid
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] - The two names sound so elegant together
Elleanora [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Allean[/name_f] - Torn between putting this here or in the LIKE section, I love how it sounds and how graceful it is but I like the [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] spellling much more and the way [name_f]Allean[/name_f] is spelled confuses me
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] - Really sweet, makes me think of snow and flowers
LIKE:
[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] - Really cute but I’d prefer a longer middle name
[name_f]Cleona[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - I’d prefer [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] but this is fun and spunky
[name_f]Davina[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] - [name_f]Davina[/name_f]'s interesting but the names don’t flow well together (daviNA [name_f]NAomi[/name_f])
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is a lovely, really sweet name but [name_f]Grace[/name_f] feels like a filler middle name
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f]- [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is a nice name, with the cool [name_m]Roald[/name_m] Dahl connection and nice nicknames. [name_f]Renae[/name_f] feels dated and the [name_f]Renee[/name_f] spelling makes more sense to me
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] - I know people who pronounce [name_f]Mila[/name_f] as mee-lah and others who say my-lah. [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is too repetitive with the second pronunciation, much as I may love it as a middle name.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Maja[/name_f] - [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]'s pretty but not my favorite [name_f]Rose[/name_f]-name. Is [name_f]Maja[/name_f] pronounced like [name_f]Maya[/name_f]? If yes I’d spell it that way
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] and the two names work really well together. However, [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] feels very 2000’s or early 2010’s to me.
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f] - Like [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f], I like both names but I’d pick a longer middle name
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f] - [name_f]Vera[/name_f]'s so pretty! She’d make a great sister to [name_f]Calla[/name_f]. [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f] feels dated and I dislike the -eigh spelling
Xavia [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] - I feel like this spelling of [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] would get misspelled a lot. Xavia is interesting but it also sounds like someone with an accent saying [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
DISLIKE:
[name_f]Aubree[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] - Too popular + I dislike the spelling of [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - [name_f]Aria[/name_f]'s too popular and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], like [name_f]Grace[/name_f], feels like a filler middle
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] - Popularity + I prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] to [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
Ezrie [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - I actually kind of like this, but since [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is so popular she’d get her name mispronounced a lot
[name_f]Jayda[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Storm[/name_u] - If this was [name_f]Jade[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] I’d love it. However, [name_f]Jayda[/name_f] feels really trendy and even a bit dated and I dislike how it looks. [name_u]Storm[/name_u] is a name that I can’t imagine on a real person, I find it a bit tacky (just my personal opinion)
[name_f]Lacie[/name_f] [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Lacie[/name_f] makes for a really cute nickname, but nickname only. As for [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] I really dislike how it looks
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] - Not a fan of [name_f]Trinity[/name_f], I dislike all the nicknames and I’m not a fan of -ity endings. [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] is all boy to me
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] - [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] is too trendy for my tastes and I find the added y unnecessary. [name_f]Paige[/name_f] is cute
Annika Felicity Snow - perfection
Aubree Vivian - don’t like Vivian, too severe, but the rhythm of name works
Aria Rose - pretty but too pretty for me
Audra Magnolia - too many A’s and flow doesn’t work for me. Like Magnolia.
Bailey Elisabeth - love E, dislike Bailey.
Calla Jade - cool name but a little harsh-sounding for me
Cecilia Margaret - gorgeous, luxurious name
Cleona Jean - sounds country if that’s your style!
Davina Naomi - like the idea of this just don’t love Davina and the two Na’s clunky
Elleanora Ruth Allean - love first two names;Allean = Alien?
Eloise Grace - pretty!
Ezrie Violet - another gorgeous name!
Freya Kathleen - bit harsh together.
Jayda Louise Storm - too celeb spawn for me
Lacie Aaliyah - like in theory but wouldn’t use
Mackenzie Brielle - not my style but sounds good
Matilda Renae - Better middles for Matilda, imo
Mila Lilac - love Lilac as a middle but not with Mila - too much of a mouthful
Rosalie Maja - refreshing but prefer Maya or May.
Sadie Leona - cute!
Thea Lux - bit out of fashion
Trinity Blaise - porn star/ stage name
Vera Ashleigh - don’t like A ending followed by A beginning but love Vera
Xavia Anabel - sweet and interesting! (But again don’t like A end, A beginning)
Zoey Paige - cute! (Prefer Zoe)
I love a lot of these individually, and quite a few combos, too!
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] - the flow here is perfect and I like all 3 names
[name_f]Aubree[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] - I’m not huge on the flow here, but I like the names separately, I quite like [name_f]Aubrie[/name_f] spelled this way
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleona[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - very interesting combo ! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the flow here.
[name_f]Davina[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] - very pretty and the flow is great!
Elleanora [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Allean[/name_f] - flow is off, I quite like all three but I’m not huge on them all together.
Ezrie [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] this. I adore Ezrie, we considered it for our daughter, but spelled [name_u]Ezri[/name_u], after [name_u]Ezri[/name_u] [name_m]Dax[/name_m] from [name_f]Star[/name_f] Trek.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Jayda[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Storm[/name_u] - this are pretty and flow nicely together!
[name_f]Lacie[/name_f] [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] - both of these are pretty, just not my favorite together.
[name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] - I quite like these separately, not huge on them paired up.
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] - love these separetely, not huge on them next to each other.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Maja[/name_f] - love this one
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] - very pretty, i love the flow here
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f] - [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] - I like separately, especially [name_u]Blaise[/name_u], not loving them next to each other. [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Trinity[/name_f] maybe?
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f] - I don’t love [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f], but maybe [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] / [name_f]Aislin[/name_f]?
Xavia [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] - very pretty!
Thank you for the replies and inputs on the names! [name_m]Just[/name_m] some things I noticed while looking at the replies.
Everyone seems to think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] next to [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] is pretty common. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a filler middle name to me, personally. I think using it is so filler like. But on the other hand, it’s a honor name as well for me. My sister who is more like another mother most the times to me, that’s her middle name, and then my best friend since I was like 4, that’s her middle name too. So I’ve tried to find another name similar to it, but ended up not liking anything. I don’t like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] enough to use it as a first name because I feel like I know so many [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]'s. I did use the s one because I like it a little more.
@orchard_lover nice to see someone love [name_f]Davina[/name_f]! I feel in love with davina the minute I heard it on a tv show. @ceryle I actually met a little audra when I worked at my first job and I literally loved loved this little girl. She was so sweet, and spunky. I love that someone else loves it as well! I’ve met two audra’s in my life and both of them are the definition of sweet. @emmievis - I love the idea of [name_f]Calla[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as sisters! [name_f]Calla[/name_f] is pretty new on my list and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is brand new. I’ve loved both of them for years though!
also I really find it pretty awesome that everyone loves [name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f], I really thought [name_f]Annika[/name_f] wouldn’t receive too much love, and that’s why she stayed off my list for so so long. But, I recently fell in love with [name_f]Annie[/name_f], like about two years ago when I watched the Killing on Netflix. I wanted to use [name_f]Annie[/name_f] but I felt that was kind of weird to just use [name_f]Annie[/name_f], so I brought back my love [name_f]Annika[/name_f].
Also another comment on something I noticed: most people didn’t like the ones that I’m currently getting bored at staring at, more so falling out of love with.
Thank you for the comments as well! I appreciate them.
[name_u]Love[/name_u]:
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] - [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]! Short, sweet but strong, familiar but not common
[name_f]Cleona[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - strong, uncommon with a familiar nickname and middle name, great flow
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - just so sweet!
Ezrie [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - sweet and strong, very cool
[name_f]Jayda[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Storm[/name_u] - would prefer [name_f]Jada[/name_f] without the Y, but still love the name. It has a great flow, even with an added surname at the end, I think [name_u]Storm[/name_u] “leads” the other names with room to connect to the surname. Really like [name_u]Storm[/name_u]!
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f] - short and spunky, [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is pretty and timeless.
Not a fan:
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Snow[/name_f], but honestly, just not a fan of [name_f]Annika[/name_f].
[name_f]Davina[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] - both are fine names, I was considering putting it on the ‘like’ list, but it doesn’t have the best flow, the -na- gets repetitive and runs in together.
[name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] - it’s nice enough, it sounds nice, but honestly, it is such a trendy name.
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] as the middle, but the L’s are repetitive.
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] - it’s nice. just nice.
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] - not fond of [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] for a girl. These two just don’t seem to go together.
Xavia [name_f]Anabel[/name_f]
@coddiwomple [name_m]Ah[/name_m], I love to meet someone else that loves Ezrie. I met a little girl when I worked at my first work named this and I loved how free spirited and crazy she was, and I mean it must of been because the mom was like that and the way she parented. But this little girl was the cutest so I fell in love with her and the name. I also really love [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], but I hate how popular it is, so I loved that this was kind of a way to get that name too. I also love Asling spelt like irish because i’m actually about more than 50% irish. But [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f] is a honor name for someone.
I’m looking at changing about five names that I have on my list. So I’m finding ways to swap them, or add, or replace. I’ve done this with a few of my boy names that I just kind of felt meh about, Like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] used to be [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], but I fell out of love with [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] and more in love with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
So these are the names and ideas
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] - So I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and I have since I watched the movie [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]( if you’ve never seen this, you have too. It’s so cute. It’s a must seen movie classic growing up). I’m not really connected or attached to [name_f]Renae[/name_f], I just like the sound it makes next to [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] for some reason. But, I’ve been trying to place [name_f]Jane[/name_f] somewhere since it is an honor name to me. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]? [name_m]How[/name_m] does that flow or sound together? Or do you like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] better?
