I’m a longtime lurker of this forum and I was wondering what you thought of these name crushes of mine.
Our surname starts with a P and rhymes with Shorter… Ten points to whoever can guess it!
Well, unfortunately the “er” ending clashes with some of my favourite boys’ names. Well, _er _er sounds a bit singsongy. You catch my drift.
If we had a son it’s a given that his middle name will be [name]James[/name], as per tradition in my husband’s family.

[name]Miles[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this. So classic with the middle name [name]James[/name] and it goes so well with your last name.
[name]Reginald[/name] ([name]Reggie[/name]) - Ok. NMS, but it’s nice.
[name]Vincent[/name] - Doesn’t go well with [name]James[/name].
[name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Theo[/name]) - Nice. Not as good as [name]Miles[/name], but ok.
[name]Noel[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this one. Ties with [name]Miles[/name], [name]IMO[/name].
[name]Magnus[/name] - No. [name]Don[/name]'t like at all.
[name]Alastair[/name] - Ok. Classic, but NMS.
[name]Joseph[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it. The alliteration sounds wonderful with your last name.
[name]Wilfred[/name] - No.
[name]William[/name] - Ok. Classic to the point of almost boring, though.
[name]Ellis[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it. Unusual but not absurd, and sounds great with [name]James[/name].
[name]Russell[/name] - Eh. Not a fan.
[name]Blake[/name] – I like [name]Blake[/name] okay, but it seems a little boring to me
[name]Griffin[/name] – I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Griffin[/name]!
[name]Miles[/name] – Very handsome
[name]Reginald[/name] ([name]Reggie[/name]) – [name]Love[/name] this one too, very distinguished and [name]Reggie[/name] is adorable
[name]Vincent[/name] – handsome and classic and [name]Vince[/name] is a great nn
[name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Theo[/name]) – I’ve never liked [name]Theodore[/name] too much, but I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Theo[/name]

[name]Magnus[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it but it can come off as a bit too overbearing
[name]Alastair[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name] this is a great name, sophisticated and handsome

[name]Wilfred[/name] – I don’t like this one, it’s a bit too old fashioned to me

[name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Miles[/name] are definitely my favourites on your list, alot of the others I see as great middle names; [name]Blake[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Vincent[/name] - all too traditional for me.
[name]Edgar[/name] is adorable and I knew the cutest little boy ever with this name and it’s only given me a positive association.
I like that [name]Griffin[/name] is your mother’s maiden name but if it’s odd with your last name, maybe it would be OK in the middle? [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Griffin[/name]?

[name]Ellis[/name] is OK and actually my grandmother’s favourite name, something like [name]Ellis[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] would be cute.
I like [name]Reggie[/name] but [name]Reginald[/name] seems wrong for a child.
[name]Theodore[/name] I like better as just [name]Theo[/name].
