What do you think of my 'new' loves?

These are just a few which have recently made it onto my extended long list, and I’m just looking for a few opinions on them. They’re pretty much in order of preference

[name]Lark[/name]
[name]Margaux[/name]
[name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Angelina[/name]
[name]Paloma[/name]
[name]Lena[/name]
Magdelena
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Elowen[/name]
[name]Briar[/name]
[name]Lenora[/name]
[name]Martha[/name]

(Funny, I hadn’t noticed they’re mostly M or L names, and almost all end in A).

Thank you!

From your list , my favorites are…

  1. [name]Elowen[/name]
  2. [name]Margaux[/name]
  3. [name]Martha[/name]
    4.[name]Lavinia[/name]
  4. [name]Lenora[/name]
    6.[name]Briar[/name]

[name]Lark[/name], virginia, [name]Angelina[/name], [name]Paloma[/name],& [name]Magdalena[/name] just don’t appeal to me

[name]Lark[/name] – I think this is very pretty for a middle name. As a first, I don’t like it, but it could certainly work!
[name]Margaux[/name] – I prefer the simpler spelling [name]Margot[/name], but I think it’s a lovely name with a great sound.
[name]Virginia[/name] – I’ve never liked this one and I had a crazy teacher last semester named [name]Virginia[/name] so that didn’t help. It just sounds old to me.
[name]Angelina[/name] – Pretty. It’s one of my favorite [name]Angel[/name] variations.
[name]Paloma[/name] – Meh. It has nice sounds but isn’t my style
[name]Lena[/name] – I prefer it as a nickname, but it’s nice
Magdelena – I prefer it spelled [name]Magdalena[/name] and I think it’s gorgeous! I think it’s properly pronounced mag-dah-lay-nah but I prefer saying it mag-dah-lee-nah
[name]Lavinia[/name] – Very pretty and old fashioned but with modern nicknames like [name]Livie[/name], [name]Vinny[/name], [name]Lia[/name], [name]Nia[/name]…
[name]Elowen[/name] – Gorgeous!!
[name]Briar[/name] – This is another I generally prefer in the middle spot. I find it cool in the middle and prickly in the first
[name]Lenora[/name] – I prefer [name]Lenore[/name], but this is a nice enough name, and i love the connections with [name]Poe[/name]
[name]Martha[/name] – so old fashioned to me, but not in a good one. I would prefer [name]Marcy[/name] for this type of old-fashioned

So my top 3 are:

  1. [name]Elowen[/name]
  2. [name]Magdalena[/name]
  3. [name]Lavinia[/name]

With [name]Margot[/name] coming in at 4

Amazing list! Be prepared for the word love.

[name]Lark[/name] - I love [name]Lark[/name]! A stunning name, and a lovely bitd. It’s on my middle name list.
[name]Margaux[/name] - I like this, but prefer [name]Margot[/name]. It’s spunky either way though.
[name]Virginia[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Virginia[/name] too, it’s super pretty. It makes me think of [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Wolf[/name], and a lovely song by [name]Marissa[/name] Nadler.
[name]Angelina[/name] - This is too associated with [name]Angelina[/name] Ballerina for me, and she is so annoying. I like [name]Angelica[/name] or [name]Angelique[/name] better.
[name]Paloma[/name] - So pretty!!! It’s very warm and spunky.
[name]Lena[/name] - I don’t like this at all, sorry!
Magdelena - I love [name]Magdalena[/name], it’s gorgeous. It’s quite serious, and I like that.
[name]Lavinia[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this too, but it’s too associated with [name]Titus[/name] Andronicus.
[name]Elowen[/name] - [name]One[/name] of my favourite names. It’s so beautiful and clean.
[name]Briar[/name] - Another on my middle list, it’s so fairytale-ish and lovely.
[name]Lenora[/name] - Prefer [name]Lenore[/name] (it might be a little too spooky though).
[name]Martha[/name] - I like [name]Martha[/name], makes me think of [name]Martha[/name] [name]Wainwright[/name] and I like her.

My favourites are [name]Lark[/name], [name]Briar[/name] and [name]Elowen[/name].

Hello! =)

[name]Lark[/name]: I always think of the saying ‘larking about’, don’t know if you’ve heard of it - it basically just means being silly, which is why the name doesn’t appeal to me!
[name]Margaux[/name]: Interesting spelling, think I prefer it to ‘[name]Margot[/name]’, although [name]Margaux[/name] would have to be a middle name spot because of all the potential spelling/pronunciation mistakes! I actually like the spelling [name]Margo[/name] the most. Very simple, very pretty =)
[name]Virginia[/name]: Reminds me too much of ‘virgin’, just don’t like.
[name]Angelina[/name]: Reminds me of [name]Angelina[/name] Ballerina, the little mouse! Which is why I wouldn’t name a child it.
[name]Paloma[/name]: Very pretty, love the meaning! =)
[name]Lena[/name]: Too simple, however great as a nickname for Magdelena! Pronounced ‘lay-nuh’.
Magdelena: [name]One[/name] of my favourites! However I prefer the [name]Magdalena[/name] spelling. So gorgeous!
[name]Lavinia[/name]: I have an aunt [name]Lavinia[/name] and have always hated the name! When I was younger I thought it was made up!
[name]Elowen[/name]: Not sure how this is pronounced. Is it ‘ell-OH-wen’ or ‘[name]ELL[/name]-oh-wen’? [name]Even[/name] so, this reminds me of the pronounciation of ‘LOL’ (ell-oh-ell).
[name]Briar[/name]: Too masculine.
[name]Lenora[/name]: Reminds me of the washing liquid, [name]Lenor[/name].
[name]Martha[/name]: Very pretty! =)

Top 3

  1. [name]Paloma[/name]
  2. Magdelena
  3. [name]Martha[/name]

I love [name]Lark[/name], [name]Margaux[/name], and [name]Elowen[/name].

[name]Lark[/name]: I really love this in the middle name spot, as a first name not so much. It’s too abrupt.
[name]Margaux[/name]: I don’t see the appeal. It’s just nmsaa.
[name]Virginia[/name]: Seems dated and not in the old lady chic kind of way.
[name]Angelina[/name]: It’s okay. It seems a bit 80’s/90’s to me.
[name]Paloma[/name]: This is interesting but it’s not something I would use.
[name]Lena[/name]: Cute! I really like [name]Lena[/name].
Magdelena: I really like this! I personally prefer the spelling [name]Magdalena[/name] though.
[name]Lavinia[/name]: This is very pretty!
[name]Elowen[/name]: I love [name]Elowen[/name]!
[name]Briar[/name]: [name]Love[/name], slightly prefer in the middle name spot though.
[name]Lenora[/name]: This is nice, don’t love it or hate it.
[name]Martha[/name]: Nmsaa, too plain.

[name]Lark[/name] – I think it’s cute, makes a nice middle name but works as a fn too.
[name]Margaux[/name] – Like it, and I like this spelling. [name]IMO[/name] the easiest spelling is [name]Margo[/name].
[name]Virginia[/name] – Cute, needs to make a comeback.
[name]Angelina[/name] – Very pretty, I prefer [name]Angeline[/name] and [name]Angelica[/name] though. [name]Lina[/name] would be a nice nn.
[name]Paloma[/name] – I don’t like it very much but it’s not the worst name in the world. [name]Lolo[/name] would be a cute nn.
[name]Lena[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it! [name]Magdalena[/name] is on my list with the nns [name]Lena[/name], [name]Leni[/name] and [name]Alena[/name].
Magdelena – [name]Adore[/name], prefer the [name]Magdalena[/name] spelling but Magdelena is fine.
[name]Lavinia[/name] – also on my list, adore it.
[name]Elowen[/name] – Most [name]El[/name]- names bore me these days but [name]Elowen[/name] is one of the more exciting ones.
[name]Briar[/name] – Not my thing, but it’s cute.
[name]Lenora[/name] – I like this, plus [name]Lenore[/name] and [name]Leonora[/name]. My fave is [name]Leonora[/name]. You could do [name]Lenora[/name] nn [name]Lena[/name].
[name]Martha[/name] – I don’t like [name]Martha[/name] but I love the nicknames [name]Mattie[/name] and [name]Marty[/name].

[name]Lark[/name] - beautiful, I love it!
[name]Margaux[/name] - I prefer [name]Margot[/name], but I think it’s a cute name. Never met anyone with this name
[name]Virginia[/name] - I still don’t like this one. I prefer [name]Regina[/name] and [name]Vienna[/name]
[name]Angelina[/name] - I automatically think of the [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] character and of angels…never been one I’ve loved. I prefer [name]Annaliese[/name]
[name]Paloma[/name] - I’ve never met anyone with this name. It has a pretty sound. I like [name]Petra[/name] and [name]Paula[/name] a lot.
[name]Lena[/name] - I’ve never liked this one. Sounds like lean
Magdelena - this one is very heavy sounding to me. It’s interesting though. What about Antonela or [name]Marguerite[/name]?
[name]Lavinia[/name] - I adore [name]Livia[/name], but [name]Lavinia[/name] sounds like it’s related to soap for some reason. I’d prefer [name]Alivia[/name] I think.
[name]Elowen[/name] - pretty  sounds like LMNO a bit
[name]Briar[/name] - interesting. I can definitely see this as a middle, but the negative connection would make me leery of using it as a first.
[name]Lenora[/name] - I know a [name]Lenore[/name] (she’s about 12) always thought it was a cool name
[name]Martha[/name] - not my favorite, feels frumpy to me.

[name]Lark[/name] - I wouldn’t want to be named [name]Lark[/name], but I like the idea. Would make a spunky middle
[name]Margaux[/name] -I think this is ‘faux french’ and prefer [name]Margo[/name]/t
[name]Virginia[/name] - never llike this name
[name]Angelina[/name] - It’s OK
[name]Paloma[/name] - love it, and love the meaning
[name]Lena[/name] - this has really grown on me lately. [name]Helena[/name] I prefer.
Magdelena - too much name. It’s not overly pretty
[name]Lavinia[/name] - nice.
[name]Elowen[/name] - never met anyone with this name. I like it though. I’m sure she would get thrown in the [name]Ellie[/name] basket though
[name]Briar[/name] - way too close to [name]Brian[/name]. Not a fan.
[name]Lenora[/name] - love it! [name]Lenore[/name] also.
[name]Martha[/name] - this has something going for it. but your others are nicer.

[name]Lenora[/name] and [name]Lena[/name] are my faves.

From your list I love:
[name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Lena[/name]
[name]Paloma[/name]
Magdelena (though I prefer [name]Magdalena[/name] as others have mentioned)
[name]Lenora[/name]

I like:
[name]Angelina[/name]
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Elowen[/name]

I dislike:
[name]Lark[/name]
[name]Margaux[/name] - if it were the [name]Margo[/name] spelling, I would like it.
[name]Briar[/name]
[name]Martha[/name]

[name]Paloma[/name] and Magdelena are my favorites.

[name]Lark[/name]- Trendy but cheerful, open, and crisp.
[name]Margaux[/name]- I like the luxuriousness of the X spelling. Very grown up.
[name]Virginia[/name]- Can’t get past “virgin.”
[name]Angelina[/name]- I think of [name]Angelina[/name] Ballerina. Prefer [name]Angelica[/name].
[name]Paloma[/name]- Yes. [name]Paloma[/name] [name]Picasso[/name], [name]Paloma[/name] Herrera. Sexy, serious, elegant.
[name]Lena[/name]- Prn “[name]Laina[/name]?” Like this. Prefer [name]Marlene[/name], prn “[name]Marlaina[/name]”
Magdelena- Yes. [name]Love[/name] the namesake, and the name.
[name]Lavinia[/name]- I think of the book A [name]Little[/name] [name]Princess[/name]. It’s a prissy name to me, kind of like a Victorian version of [name]Brittany[/name], [name]Tiffany[/name], [name]Courtney[/name].
[name]Elowen[/name]- So ephemeral, a pleasure to say. I prefer a little more bite in a name, but I like this a lot anyway.
[name]Briar[/name]- I like the stinging, biting botanicals. [name]Love[/name] Thistle and Nettle. [name]Briar[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is almost fairy tale material. Great.
[name]Lenora[/name]- Much prefer [name]Lenore[/name]. Dark and sleek.
[name]Martha[/name]- [name]Stewart[/name].

[name]Lark[/name]- I like it, but prefer it for the middle spot.
[name]Margaux[/name]- Pretty (and I love the -x ending. lol). Prefer this that [name]Margo[/name], or [name]Margot[/name].
[name]Virginia[/name]- I love it. It’s so pretty and sweet. The problem is… It’s my friend middle name and for once (or maybe several time, I dunno) she got teased by the ‘virgin’ connection.
[name]Angelina[/name]- My own name, so I’m biased. I really love it.
[name]Paloma[/name]- sweet.
[name]Lena[/name]- pretty. Prefer this as a nn for [name]Elena[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Selena[/name], Silena or [name]Alena[/name].
Magdelena- Prefer [name]Magdalene[/name].
[name]Lavinia[/name]- I’m neutral about this. [name]Lavinia[/name]'s pretty.
[name]Elowen[/name]- Sounds cute.
[name]Briar[/name]- Directly thought about [name]Briar[/name] [name]Rose[/name] from the Grimm brother’s fairy tale.
[name]Lenora[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] it. Prefer [name]Lenore[/name] (maybe because of [name]Poe[/name]'s poems) or [name]Leonore[/name].
[name]Martha[/name]- Okay.

[name]Lark[/name] - I love [name]Lark[/name], I’ve always thought it sounded really cute! More of a mn [name]IMO[/name].
[name]Margaux[/name] - I like the [name]Margot[/name] spelling a lot. [name]Margaux[/name] doesn’t appeal to me.
[name]Virginia[/name] - Not my style at all.
[name]Angelina[/name] - I don’t like it. It’s just another [name]Angel[/name] name to me. There’s so many of them ([name]Angela[/name], [name]Angelica[/name], [name]Angeline[/name], etc.) [name]Lina[/name] would be a nice nn though.
[name]Paloma[/name] - My favorite from your list. beautiful name with a beautiful meaning.
[name]Lena[/name] - I like it, but I prefer [name]Helena[/name].
Magdelena - [name]Way[/name] too long and frilly for my taste. I prefer [name]Madeleine[/name].
[name]Lavinia[/name] - Pretty! I’ve always had a soft spot for [name]Lavinia[/name].
[name]Elowen[/name] - I like it, but there’s plenty of similar names I like better.
[name]Briar[/name] - No. [name]Just[/name] no.
[name]Lenora[/name] - I prefer [name]Lenore[/name]. [name]Even[/name] if they’re only a letter difference, I don’t really like [name]Lenora[/name].
[name]Martha[/name] - Completely not my style.

My favorites are [name]Paloma[/name], [name]Lavinia[/name] and [name]Lark[/name].

I love [name]Elowen[/name], [name]Lavinia[/name], and [name]Magdalena[/name]. Those three are stunning.

[name]Lark[/name], [name]Margaux[/name], [name]Virginia[/name], [name]Angelina[/name], [name]Lavinia[/name] and [name]Martha[/name] are nms.
[name]Paloma[/name] - is one of my new loves as well. I really love everything about it.
Magdelena/[name]Lena[/name] - love [name]Lena[/name] as a nn [name]Elena[/name] or Magdelena. I tend to like longer names so [name]Lena[/name] is a just below my threshold meter. lol. Magdelena by itself always makes me think or [name]Mary[/name] [name]Magdalen[/name] and I’m not sure I’m wild about that connection - however I grew up in a very religious environment and it might just be a hold over from then. Otherwise I think Magdelena is beautiful.
[name]Elowen[/name] - always makes me feel like I’m part of Middle [name]Earth[/name]. I love the magic behind this name.
[name]Briar[/name] - This is probably the shortest name on my list. I love it paired like in Sleeping Beauty [name]Briar[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] and this is definitely one I’d be willing to double barrel with a softer second name. But I love the wild strength that it implies.
[name]Lenora[/name] -I prefer [name]Leonora[/name] or [name]Eleonora[/name] it sounds grand, and a mix between romantic and haunted as well as quirky rich old dame. So perfect. (Yes I did try to use old lady as a complement. :P).
