So we are expecting our first boy and so far this is our shorthlist, please can you voice your opinions in regards to the names and the middle name combinations as well as your thoughts on the name Benji? MN will be [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] or [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] - I have always liked this name and would always call him [name_m]Benji[/name_m]
[name_m]Benji[/name_m] - I love this name a lot but worry what people will think. Is it usable? to me it is no different than names like [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] for example but thats just me!
[name_m]Rocco[/name_m] - really like this name but not liking some of the associations such as [name_f]Madonna[/name_f]
[name_m]Donovan[/name_m] - this is quite a new add to our list. I like it a lot! its a bit different and I dont like very common names. Its strong and nn could be [name_m]Donnie[/name_m] wich is cute
I would be wary of using [name_m]Benji[/name_m] as his legal/full name. Everyone will assume it is short for [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] and you’ll be forever correcting people. Also, it is a little childish sounding… imagine going into a job interview and introducing yourself as [name_m]Benji[/name_m].
If you love [name_m]Benji[/name_m], go with [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]. It’s a sweet, but solid name. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] sounds really nice.
[name_m]Donovan[/name_m] is my favorite, too! I love him a lot. I have a former boss who has an adorable little [name_m]Donovan[/name_m], which makes me love it even more. I would love to know more Donovans! I love [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], too, but have never been able to get into [name_m]Benji[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] nn [name_m]Benji[/name_m] is fine, but I wouldn’t go straight for [name_m]Benji[/name_m], either. I think [name_m]Benji[/name_m] is all well and good when he’s six, but will he want to be [name_m]Beni[/name_m] when he’s 26? I don’t think I would. Same with [name_u]Alfie[/name_u]. It’s cute for a six-year-old, but I wouldn’t want to be [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] much past that.
[name_m]Rocco[/name_m] is nice, but I like [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] more.
suppose you guys are right! and I suppose we could make him [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] with nn [name_m]Benji[/name_m] … I really like [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] and [name_m]Rocco[/name_m] also, I have no idea how we are going to decide. Originally we had [name_m]Odin[/name_m] as the top runner but I fell off that name big time
[name_m]Donovan[/name_m] and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] are my favorites. [name_m]Benji[/name_m] is cute as a nickname, I just think [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is more handsome and versatile.

I think we are definitely leaning towards [name_m]Donovan[/name_m], my husband thinks its the best name and I am loving it more and more although it is a completely new name to me. Its not too common either which I like, unlike [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] for example. I really dislike names that are very popular
