I love the quirky vintage feel I get when I hear it, but often then not, I get the “it’s a dog’s name” comment. [name]Rex[/name] is Latin for ‘[name]King[/name]’ and I love it. I did like the pairing [name]Rex[/name] [name]Arthur[/name], but then someone pointed out it would then be ‘[name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name]’ - as much as I love the legend, I think that’s taking it too far! Any middle name suggestions would be helpful! Also, do you think it sounds good with brothers named [name]Henry[/name] [name]August[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name]?
I like [name]Rex[/name]. I think it goes well with [name]Henry[/name] [name]August[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name].
Choosing a MN from your signature, I love [name]Rex[/name] [name]Jasper[/name]! If you want something more grounded, I like [name]Rex[/name] [name]Edward[/name].
I like [name]Rex[/name] as well.
For sibling [name]Henry[/name] [name]August[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] I’d go with [name]Rex[/name] [name]Emerson[/name].
I like the softer mn with the stronger fn.
Normally I love short, handsome boy names (aka ‘pet names’) like [name]Sam[/name], [name]Max[/name], [name]Leo[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Gus[/name], etc. But [name]Rex[/name] is one name that I’ve never been able to like. [name]Just[/name] not my taste. I do think it fits in with [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] however. And I think [name]Rex[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] sounds as nice as anything else, even with the whole ‘[name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name]’ thing. I don’t think too many people would catch onto that anyways.
I completely dislike this name for a dog actually, lol, and yet I wouldn’t mind hearing it on a child.
I do think it sounds just fine with the other boys’ names. [name]Rex[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] is just a bit too much for me as well, but [name]Rex[/name] [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Rex[/name] [name]Boone[/name], or [name]Rex[/name] [name]Edward[/name] are my favorite combinations from your signature. (You might have to be on the lookout for a few “your name rhymes with sex” comments from the particularly uncouth kids at school though. And while I am sure a little boy would be thrilled with the association for some while, I do have to wonder how long it would take before the T-[name]Rex[/name] comments started to become a nuisance? [name]Just[/name] something to consider.) =]
I like it - I know two boys (in the UK) with [name]Rex[/name] as a middle name - [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Rex[/name] and [name]Ivor[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Rex[/name].
Sounds great with [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name].
I have a [name]Rex[/name]. My husband chose it and it honestly took awhile to grow on me…but now I [name]LOVE[/name] it. His name is [name]Rex[/name] [name]Martin[/name] (martin is after a family friend. I really like [name]Rex[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] even with the king reference.
Honestly, I really like [name]Rex[/name]. Not so much on its own as a given name, but as a nickname, it’s quite spunky. Also, it’s not ideal with Henry, but Arlo sort of bridges the gap so it doesn’t feel so out of place.
I think [name]Rex[/name] is a cool name (though it’s not really my style) but to me it has a very different vibe than [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name]. I think [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] have a quiet, stable quality to them, while [name]Rex[/name] sounds much edgier.
