What do you think of Russel?

Or do you prefer [name]Rowan[/name]? What other names could you suggest that can have the nick name “[name]Roe[/name]”?

*Not pregnant, just looking for opinions.

I love [name]Russel/name. It’s waiting in the wings, with [name]Warren[/name]…

I love [name]Rowan[/name] as well, but you have to be secure with the unisex nature of [name]Rowan[/name]…

[name]Russel[/name] is cool. I like it very much!

I like [name]Russel/name a lot. I feel like I should go for the [name]Russel[/name] spelling, since that’s my great-grandfather’s MN, spelling and all, but I like the [name]Russell[/name] spelling more. I prefer [name]Russell[/name] as a MN, though–I’m quite partial to [name]Gavin[/name] [name]Russell[/name], [name]Jack[/name] [name]Russell[/name], [name]Josiah[/name] [name]Russell[/name], etc.!

Other than [name]Rowan[/name], I think [name]Rory[/name], [name]Rohan[/name]/[name]Roan[/name], [name]Ronin[/name]/[name]Ronan[/name], [name]Roman[/name], [name]Rodrigo[/name], [name]Robert[/name], [name]Robinson[/name]/[name]Robin[/name]/[name]Robson[/name], etc. could all get the nn [name]Ro[/name]. Anything starting with [name]Ro[/name], actually, or even containing the letters together.

I quite like the name.

I like [name]Russel[/name] better than [name]Rowan[/name]. I know a [name]Russel[/name] and he’s awesome.

I like the name and also prefer the [name]Russell[/name] spelling. I have thought of nicknaming a [name]Robert[/name] as [name]Ro/name. It might work for [name]Roscoe[/name], too.

I’m not sure how you get [name]Roe[/name] out of [name]Russell[/name] - for me it’s a bit of a stretch but I like @ashthedreamers suggestions.

I like the name as well, and prefer the [name]Russell[/name] spelling. Couldn’t use it myself as we’ve already got one in the family but it’s a nice name, underused and understated.

I love [name]Russel[/name]/[name]Russell[/name]! It’s always been on my long list of name. My nephew is going to be born any day now and his name is going to be [name]Levon[/name] [name]Russell[/name]… [name]Russell[/name] is after his paternal grandfather.

I prefer the smoother sound of [name]Rowan[/name], but they are both “thoughtful” masculine names evocative of nature.
