I like the sound and the way it looks. It sounds like a really cool, laid back guy to me. Does it just seem like a variation of [name]Ryan[/name], though?
Also, does [name]Rye[/name] [name]Becker[/name] sound like someone who bakes rye bread?

Hmm. I did not think of [name]Ryan[/name], but if I ever heard some one called [name]Rye[/name], I would assume he (or she!) was a [name]Ryan[/name]. My first impression was overwhelmingly rye bread. Another connotation was a “rye” or sharp sense of humor. Still, [name]Rye[/name] seems pretty cutting-edge if that’s what you like. It sounds like a name that would be chosen be a celebrity. I’m afraid [name]Rye[/name] [name]Becker[/name] does remind me of someone who bakes rye bread. Good luck!
Thanks for the reply, [name]Christy[/name]! I thought the main association would be bread, and that just may be too much to overcome, especially with a last name that means and sounds like baker. I like the name [name]Ryan[/name], but I know so (SO) many that it’s not something I would ever consider.
I went to school with a [name]Rye[/name]. I think it is a good choice and it works with your last name.
I actually like the name and will probably use it as an affectionate nn for my grandaughter [name]Riley[/name] if my son and d-i-l do name one of the twins [name]Riley[/name]. Perhaps you could consider [name]Riley[/name] [name]Becker[/name] for your son. I also like the name [name]Barley[/name] and actually thought of it a long time ago when Sting’s song “Fields of [name]Gold[/name]” came out (I love that song!)
I very much like [name]Riley[/name], but I had a dog named [name]Riley[/name] and a good friend just named her son [name]Reilley[/name]… plus, it’s too unisex for my liking. I love it on other people’s children, though. [name]Barley[/name] is pretty cool, I never thought of that before.
I like it. It also reminds me of the name Jye.
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Lyndsay[/name]!!! [name]Rye[/name] [name]Becker[/name] does remind me of “rye baker,” so I admit I picture some baking rye bread. (I’m sorry…)
[name]Hope[/name] you’re doing well!
My friends have a 5 year old daughter named [name]Rye[/name]. I always do think of bread.
What a coincidence this post is!!! [name]Just[/name] this afternoon I was thinking that I like the name [name]Rye[/name].
I heard that JD [name]Salinger[/name] died, and how I would like to honor him with a name but don’t like the name “[name]Holden[/name]” so much. Then I thought “What about [name]Rye[/name]?”
So no, I definitely don’t think of bread first. I quite like the name, but I’m sure everyone will think it is a nn for [name]Ryan[/name] (a name I’m not so fond of).
If you’re from the NYC area, there’s also a popular suburb called [name]Rye[/name]. So that’s actually what I think of.
I definitely feel like this is more of a nn for [name]Ryan[/name] or [name]Riley[/name].
I really like [name]Rye[/name], I went to HS w/ a kid name [name]Rye[/name] [name]Baker[/name]…and i never once until this moment thought about him baking bread. Maybe you could go w/ [name]Ryne[/name], way less common than [name]Ryan[/name]. I think I will add [name]Rye[/name] to my list right now!
good luck!
Wow, a [name]Rye[/name] [name]Baker[/name]? I’m so happy that you never thought of him baking bread! Did his name seem good in action?
I see your name is mom2[name]Dash[/name], I have a [name]Dash[/name] (well, [name]Dashiell[/name])! I think we must have similar name taste!
I know I’m about 2 years late on this post, but my husband and I have [name]Rye[/name] at the top of our list for boys.
The family middle name is [name]Lee[/name], so it kinda works for [name]Rye[/name] [name]Lee[/name] as a kid name, and if he chooses to go by [name]Rye[/name] as he gets older.
What do you think?
It would be [name]Rye[/name] [name]Lee[/name] [name]Peterson[/name]
I think [name]Rye[/name] is a nice name. I’d suggest [name]Ryland[/name] though because I think [name]Ryland[/name] [name]Becker[/name] has a nice ring to it. Then you could nickname him [name]Rye[/name] if you’d like.
I like it because it is different but has a familiar sound. I might use the name [name]Ryder[/name] to get to the nn [name]Ry[/name] but that won’t work wothyour last name. [name]Rylan[/name] might be a good option
