[name]Hi[/name],
I think [name]Sapphire[/name] is an underused gem. I love the nn [name]Saffi[/name]. I’m not sure that I am brave enough to use [name]Sapphire[/name] as a first, but maybe as a middle. [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Sapphire[/name]?
Anyway, why do you think?
Thanks,
[name]Ellie[/name] xx
I’m not the biggest fan, but that’s probably because I really like [name]Sapphira[/name] (sah-FEAR-ah). To me, it’s just a little too attached to the gem, whereas a gem like [name]Ruby[/name] is also an established name. [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Sapphire[/name] is alright, but the flow is a little odd in my ear. I think [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Sapphira[/name] is a gorgeous alternative.
[name]Sapphire[/name] seems a bit too much like an “exotic dancer” name to me.
I like the suggestion of [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Sapphira[/name] though.
I agree with the PP about it being an exotic dancer name. It sounds like a stage name rather than an actual name. I saw a little girl name Dynasty [name]Sapphire[/name] the other day and I was a little horrified.
I agree with pps; it kind of sounds like a name you would hear on Toddlers and Tiaras or Dance Moms. If you like the nickname [name]Saffi[/name], what about the name [name]Saffron[/name]?
Not at all keen on [name]Sapphire[/name]. ‘Exotic dancer’ is a more polite term than what I was thinking of But if you like the nn [name]Saffi[/name], how about [name]Saffron[/name]? I went to school with a couple of girls called [name]Saffron[/name] nn Saffy/Saffie and I think it’s much more wearable
[name_m]Hi[/name_m],
In reply to everyone on this thread I would like to share my side of the story being that my name actually is [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f].
I think it’s a lovely name without sounding like I’m bigging my self up. As a child I really didn’t like having a different name but now that I’m in my twenties I love the fact that my name isn’t the same as everyone elses. I know about 7 [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]'s and multiple [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s.
I don’t feel my name sounds anything like a exotic dancer, this made me laugh a lot.
I do however really dislike the name [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], I do not think it is nice to say.
From, [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f] too (or even [name_f]Safira[/name_f]).
I love [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f], but prefer the nickname [name_f]Fia[/name_f]. [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] has recently been pushed off of even my guilty pleasure lists because my engagement ring has a big honkin’ sapphire, and it just seemed weird to keep it around even knowing we wouldn’t use it. I’d like to encourage you to use it though! I don’t hear exotic dancer in it at all, actually, quite the opposite.
