What do you think of the boy name Webb?

I’m still unsure about it.

*Not pregnant, just looking for opinions.

I think of spiders.
It’s fine, but it does make me think of spiders. I have Spider on my list as a very surprising middle name, so I have to admit the spider connection doesn’t really bother me, but maybe it bothers you?
It reminds me of [name]Jebb[/name] and [name]Judd[/name]. [name]Duff[/name] and [name]Ned[/name] (I love [name]Ned[/name]!).

I have [name]Webster[/name] and [name]Webber[/name] on my list, somehow the spider is further away from these.

I like [name]Webb[/name]. I also like [name]Webster[/name] (though [name]Webster[/name] dictionary comes to mind - maybe the child will have an encyclopedic knowledge of words/names. ;)) and think [name]Webb[/name] could be a great nn.

I do see @dearest point about the spiders though I think about webbed-feet and swimming. (I was a competitive swimmer as a teen - so this isn’t a bad thing either).

I wouldn’t use [name]Webb[/name] unless it was a family name. [name]Webster[/name] feels more wearable to me.

I think of Spiders, webbed feet, and [name]Charlotte[/name]'s [name]Web[/name]. It feels lacking as a name, when I say it I feel like it’s a nickname and something else is supposed to follow. Like [name]Webster[/name] or something! :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree with the others that it doesn’t feel very wearable. Too spidery for me! :frowning: It sort of reminds me of [name]Wilder[/name], stylistically, though, which I love!

I have a friend for whom this is a family name, and I think it works! It’s not my style personally, but I think it’s fine, especially as a middle name.

I think it’s sweet! I didn’t think of spiders at all. Probably because of the second B? “[name]Web[/name]” would not work, but I think “[name]Webb[/name]” could be adorable!

Personally I think [name]Webb[/name] should stay a surname. Though if you do use [name]Webb[/name] one day I think his sister needs to be [name]Raven[/name]. [name]Just[/name] saying.
