What do you think of the name Aviella?

I’ve really loved the names [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] for the past several years, but now that we’re having our first baby and they are so popular, I’m hesitant to use them. I came across “Aviella” and thought it was an interesting and unique combination of the two. (To be pronounced with a hard “A”-- Eh-vee-ella.) [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious to see what others think–if you think it’s pretty or if you think it rolls of the tongue a little awkward? We were also considering the name Kenzlee. (Quite different options, I know:) Any opinions would be sincerely appreciated! Thanks so much!

It sounds a little made-up to me, plus I totally would have pronounced it wrong. It’s very frilly and overtly girly, plus there’s just a little too much going on. Honestly, I’d just save one of the names for another daughter, or consider a similar but easier-said name like [name_f]Aveline[/name_f]. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is also fairly similar.
I’m not familiar with the name Kenzlee - combo of [name_u]Kenzie[/name_u] and [name_u]Lee[/name_u]?
Sorry, combo names are just not really my style.

I’d go with [name_f]Ava[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. They are popular because they are great sounding names. Aviella seems very hard to pronounce and Kenzlee is just not a nice sounding or looking name. Sorry.

[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Aveline[/name_f]

All nice options. Good luck!

I’ve known an Avalena (Actually spelled in Finnish [name_f]Eeva[/name_f]-[name_f]Leena[/name_f], but pronouced [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_m]Lay[/name_m]-na). I Americanized the spelling because I love the name!

[name_f]Eeva[/name_f]-[name_f]Leena[/name_f] would not be pronounced like [name_f]Ava[/name_f] in Finnish. That is really odd! It would need to be Eiva-[name_f]Leina[/name_f] (I took Finnish in college and am a vast majority Finnish heritage. I am baffled by that name.) Anywho…I do not care for either smoosh name like the others stated. I would pronounce Aviella as aah-vee-el-a. I would recommend:

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
Avalaina (ay-va-lay-na)
[name_f]Aveline[/name_f]
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]
[name_u]Kenzie[/name_u]

While Aviella looks like a bad smoosh of [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f], it’s certainly preferable to Kenzlee. Sorry but that name is just plain bad.

Aviella is actually a Hebrew name, a feminization of [name_m]Aviel[/name_m] (who is mentioned in the bible - an ancestor of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Saul[/name_m] if i remember correctly). Pron. [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-vee-EH-la.

Kenzlee is atrocious. [name_m]Even[/name_m] Aviella is preferable. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Aveline[/name_f]?

I’m not a fan of how it looks or is pronounced, but I prefer it to Kenzlee. I do second Augusta_Lee’s suggestion of [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] though.

I think you should ditch the idea that names are too popular. [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] are beautiful names as they are, and Aviella is less than the sum of its parts. Kenzlee and Aviella are both very trendy and current in sound, so they will seem just as dated as [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] without really standing out- I’d go with your original choices, which are both beautiful!

I like Aviella - I don’t think it sounds made up it actually sounds somewhat familiar (Kenzlee sounds made up and somewhat masculine). You could also choose a less popular name with the nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Ava[/name_f]:
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elyse[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]/[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]

Avelyn
Avalina
[name_f]Avianna[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]/[name_f]Averie[/name_f]
