What do you think of the name [name]Honor[/name], but my husband and I really like it but is it too odd?
I don’t think it’s too odd, actually. I like [name]Honor[/name].
It’s not my style, but it’s definitely not too odd. If both you and your husband like it then I say use it!
No, not odd at all, though as a [name]Brit[/name] I’d spell it [name]Honour[/name]. It’s a lovely classic. And I know an [name]Honour[/name] who’s about 9- it’s very refreshing to hear when all her friends are named [name]Emily[/name], [name]Chloe[/name] etc
You guys are making my day- Thank you
I quite like [name]Honor[/name]. It’s not odd at all and seems to be a fresh [name]Hope[/name]'s alternative. Paired with feminine, maybe frilly middle name it will make a great combo. If I remember right, [name]Jessica[/name] [name]Alba[/name] has a [name]Honor[/name] [name]Marie[/name].
Oh, [name]Honor[/name] is high on my list of loves! It sounds beautiful and has an incredible meaning.
Totally usable! I know an [name]Honor[/name] in her 30’s. she’s a super chic big-deal interior designer.
I much prefer [name]Honora[/name] because of a ‘Scrubs’ (older tv sitcom) skit where they are joking about how a girl named [name]Honor[/name] would get teased. Basically because [name]Honor[/name] sounds similar to ‘on her’, as in “Did you get on her”. I doubt kids would think of it, but it stuck with me, unfortunately.
I knew a little [name]Honor[/name] when I used to help out at Rainbows. I adore that name.
I don’t care for it at all.
I think it’s… Odd. I like it, don’t get me wrong! But it seems very unusual to me. And unlike the previous British poster, I wouldn’t spell it [name]Honour[/name] because that’s how you spell honour in [name]Britain[/name]. I think [name]Honor[/name] looks more like a name. If you and your husband both love it, go for it! Though I’d be tempted to use [name]Honora[/name]… Pretty much the same name, but with the nn ‘[name]Nora[/name]’ conveniently tacked onto the end. ;D
Sorry but it’s a no for me.
I cringed when I heard that [name]Jessica[/name] [name]Alba[/name] used it.
I remember there being a ‘toast’ that the guys I went to college with would say before drinking sometimes that used the name [name]Honor[/name] in a really disgusting way, so I can’t get over that affiliation. I won’t repeat it here.
She may not get teased at a younger age, but once puberty hits, the boys get creative and I heard a prime example.
I don’t care for it. But I generally dislike virtue names, they just don’t seem classy to me.
