What do you think of the name lila?

in my family we have different opinions on the name lila - beautiful, won’t age well, trendy etc. what do you think?

[name]Lila[/name] [name]Amy[/name] was the name of my great grandmother, I think it sounds gorgeous.
I work with young children and know a little girl also named [name]Lila[/name].
Personally, I think it would age quite nicely and is definetly not trendy.
I would use it for a middle name for one of my favourites

I like it – we are considering it if #3, due in 2 weeks, is a girl!

I think [name]Kate[/name] moss has made it trendy but it’s still a beautiful name! Maybe you could use [name]Delilah[/name] and use lila as a nn if you’re worried about it ageing well… I’m sure there’s other ways to get it but I love the name [name]Delilah[/name]!

I like it! When I was little it was one of my favourite names and I used it on my polly pocket. I don’t really hear it much now and it is a kind of makeover on the name [name]Lily[/name].

[name]Love[/name] it! I’ve considered it but DH doesn’t like the name unfortunately. [name]Don[/name]'t think it’s trendy at all, I think the name is great for a little girl as well as a grown woman.

I know a [name]Little[/name] [name]Lila[/name] she says her name [name]Lee[/name] la…

It’s definitely trendy, and it is heading up the charts rather quickly, but that’s because is beautiful, simple, classic and stylish.

I like [name]Lila[/name] a lot! It does appear to be experiencing a bit of a trend right now, but it’s also a name that’s been in use for a long time. I completely disagree with whoever said that it “wouldn’t age well” - I don’t get that impression at all. I’m actually a bit confused and curious as to why someone else would think that.

I like it pronounced either lee-la or ly-la, but if I saw it written down I would most likely assume that it was pronounced ly-la.

I love the name [name]Lila[/name], I think it’s beautiful and will have no problem aging.

It’s far from trendy imo.

I do think it’s rather short, and I tend to prefer longer names.

I think it is a beautiful name that will definitely age well!

[name]Love[/name] it. It’s popular here in [name]London[/name] but as it has a long history, I think it will age well.

I think [name]Lila[/name] is pretty!
I don’t find it trendy (but I’d put [name]Lyla[/name] down as trendy), but it is popular, and still on the rise, I believe.
[name]Lila[/name] is pretty stable. It’s one of those resurrected older names, and I like it.

I love it. I think it will age perfectly.

[name]How[/name] are you pronouncing it? I would instinctively say:

[name]Lila[/name]/[name]Lilah[/name]/[name]Lyla[/name] = [name]LY[/name]-luh
[name]Leela[/name] = [name]LEE[/name]-luh
[name]Lilla[/name] = [name]LIL[/name]-uh

Although I know that [name]Lila[/name] can be [name]LEE[/name]-luh as well.

I like [name]Lila[/name] a lot! A couple years ago, it was on my short list, but I axed it when a distant cousin used it. I knew we’d only ever see each other once a year for family reunions, but that was still too much for me (although when she named her son [name]Jack[/name] this year, that wasn’t enough to make me drop [name]Jack[/name]… probably because it means so much to me!). I still really love it, though, and come back to it every now and then. I love how it reminds me of violets (not sure why) and happiness! I think it’s really sweet.

[name]Lila[/name] is a beautiful name! I think it’ll age wonderfully. I know double l names are kind of trendy at the moment ([name]Lily[/name], [name]Lillian[/name], [name]Layla[/name] and so on) but I find [name]Lila[/name] classic and gorgeous.

[name]Love[/name] it! I wanted to name #2 [name]Lyla[/name], but #1 is [name]Lily[/name] and I’m getting a lot of grief on how similar they are and both being “L” names.
