What do you think of the name Relena?

It rhymes with [name]Selena[/name]; reh-lee-nah. It was inspired by one of my favorite television shows  What do you think of Relena?

I’ve never heard this before but it’s not bad!

I know a Raleene (ray-leen) and I always thought that was really pretty/unique.

I’ve never heard it before. My first thought was chile rellenos. Not necessarily a good or bad association.

I like it better now that I’ve seen the pronunciation. My first thought was “Re-[name]LAY[/name]-na” and I was going to say that I prefer [name]Elena[/name] or [name]Milena[/name]. Overall, I think it’s okay. I would use [name]Lena[/name] as a nickname. It’s definitely unique.

I love coming across unique names like this  <3

Its really nice!!

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

It’s not my style, but it’s nice. I like how it’s close to [name]Selena[/name], but not as popular.
-[name]Athena[/name]

Honestly, it comes across as very made-up to me. :frowning: There are so many gorgeous -lena names ([name]Helena[/name], [name]Selena[/name], [name]Elena[/name], [name]Magdalena[/name], etc.), and it feels a bit like it could become what the [name]Aiden[/name] trend did–[name]Aidan[/name], [name]Braden[/name], [name]Jadon[/name], [name]Hayden[/name]/[name]Haydn[/name], etc. were and are legitimate, but then people decided they needed all the rhyming names to sound unique. I couldn’t really find any information on it, just that it’s on that show, so it seems to me that it is made-up. That doesn’t have to be a bad thing–one of my personal favorites is [name]Olivia[/name], which was created by [name]Shakespeare[/name] himself–but Relena just doesn’t seem that classy. I like [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Selena[/name] so much more, sorry!

Thanks for the honesty  I understand where you’re coming from.

After googling the name, I just learned it’s on TWO shows! Granted, they’re both anime, so I understand if it’s still considered “made-up” … for me, what I like about names is having a face to the name. If I haven’t heard the name before, and there’s no face to the name, I’m less likely to enjoy it. Having heard the name on a TV show, I still have enough of a face to appreciate it. Does that make sense?

It does make sense. D’Morn@y is completely, totally made up, lol, but I can still appreciate it because I know a very cute little girl with the name. Same with R@hasha, Kabiliyz@, N0relys, etc.

I love this name. I’ve had it picked out for a little girl since I was 11 so 15 years but so far have been blessed with 2 boys [name]Ethan[/name] and Elyan  a girl next time would be relena [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Dottie[/name] x

Wasn’t it the girl from Gundam [name]Wing[/name] that had a thing for the guy named Heero? I remember watching that show. I know a lot of people would not know that association. It is pretty.

[name]Don[/name]'t like it, don’t dislike it. [name]Just[/name] neutral, I guess. It isn’t bad.

You got it.
