What do you think of the name Thomas Frederick?

I’m having a hard time finding the perfect name for our first son. [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is after my brother and we want to keep it as the middle name. I love [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], but I’m not sure if it sounds nice with [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. We also have a long last name that starts with an F so we had to rule out long names and any F or PH names.

Some others on our list that we don’t love, but like:

I love it so much!! It is so classic and timeless! I think it flows just fine; [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] compliment each other nicely. It’s definitely the best combo out of the ones you listed. If you still feel hung up here are a few other suggestions:

I love [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], and I love [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] (both are on my list!), but I’m not terribly fond of them together. It just seems too classic for me. Still a nice name, though. Right now, I have [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] paired together (although with the [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling, Frédéric, for honoring purposes), and I really love it. [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. I love [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] from your list, though, and I think [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] or [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] would be fantastic! I also like the idea of [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] or [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]? I think I’ll be keeping [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] on my list for now. Ashthedreamer: I love [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] so much, but hubby has vetoed much of my favorites and now we’re trying to rebuild a new one together. I will have to run the other suggestions by him though. Thank you :slight_smile:

It’s a little too old-manish for me, but I like the combination. Nice flow and both strong names.

I love it, I think it’s so handsome! I completely understand wanting to keep [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] as the middle name, but you could always give him the nickname [name_m]Rick[/name_m] if your brother went by [name_m]Fred[/name_m] (or vice versa)! Either way, it’s a very handsome, classic name. Great choice!
