I have a few combo that I want to get fellow berries’ opinions on! I like names that are spunky, a little unique, not complicated on spelling or pronunciation, and not too feminine!
My favourite is [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] – very sweet, with a great vintage feel. I also really like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine, and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is nice, too. My least favourite is [name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] (I don’t mind [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] so much, but I’m not big on [name_u]Glen[/name_u]).
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is a beautiful middle name; one of my friends is named [name_f]Erika[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f], and everyone loves it. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is such a classic. This name is very striking, and therefore my favourite on this list. It flows like a river.
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde - I’m not too fond on either of these names for some reason, but the flow works.
[name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] - Not a fan personally, but the name is fine. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]? [name_u]Ariel[/name_u]? [name_f]Arielle[/name_f]? Or just [name_u]Ari[/name_u]?
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine - I prefer [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] > Elodine, but this works! [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is pretty too, it reminds me of one of my favourites, [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] - [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is such a sweet middle name with a pretty meaning. I don’t like the name [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], but there is nothing wrong with it.
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - Negative associations with [name_f]Willa[/name_f], so I can’t comment. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] has a nice vintage feel that is seemingly rare nowadays.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] -[name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is an interesting and refreshing middle to sweet, strong [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde -love this, familiar but distinct, literary and fresh
[name_u]Glen[/name_u] Arietty -love Arietty, not a fan of [name_u]Glen[/name_u] -a little clunky for me. [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] Arietty, [name_u]Wren[/name_u] Arietty, [name_f]Leni[/name_f] [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] or [name_f]Nell[/name_f] Arietty would be nice
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine - this is really interesting. Mysterious vibes but grounded
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] -I love [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] but I’m not sure on these two together. Not just because of the alliteration which feels a bit much in this case, but it reminds me of the Brontë sisters who used the alias [name_u]Bell[/name_u] when they first published so aagin, it’s a little much in my head. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] or [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] maybe?
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] -love this!! Classic with a twist, charming and vintage, sweet and bright

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]-I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. It is sort of a good middle ground name between spunky and sophisticated. It’s getting kind of popular though. I’m not sure that I love [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]. [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] is obviously kind of a weirdo. I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f]!
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde-[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is sweet. Would people occasionally say this w/a hard ‘G’? Maybe…It’s a nice name though. Fairly simple, and not too over done. Grows up well. I like Wilde only for a boy. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] would be my vote. Or [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] sounds better than [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] in my opinion.
[name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] -This combo flows well, but I don’t really like [name_u]Glen[/name_u] for a girl (or a boy really). It’s sort of too masculine for a girl, but too feminine for a boy. I prefer [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. More feminine, but still strong w/a little spunk.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine-I don’t care much for [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]. Not sure why; it just doesn’t sound very pretty to me. And this combination has too many 'd’s.
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]-[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is very cool. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is alright…I kind of like the alliteration. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would be gorgeous.
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]-I like it! Has a similar feel to [name_f]Alice[/name_f], but less common. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is adorable.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] are awesome! They all have a lot of spunk. I really like the name [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] and [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is quite nice but I think I’d prefer it with something else, say [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], or [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] as some examples? I’m not a fan of the others to be honest although they are interesting.
I don’t have too much to say, other than I love your combos. The only one I might avoid is [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]; I think it sounds great, and I appreciate the literary reference, but I think the pronunciation of [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] might be difficult/unfamiliar for some people.
I was very unsure of [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] either, but my ulterior motive is that I want a B.B. initial combo. I’ve always wanted to call one of my kid B.B. someday…
I met a girl called [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] awhile ago, and I just completely fell for this name, which is why I wanted to test how it works as a first name, otherwise I would have gone with [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f], [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] or [name_u]Billie[/name_u] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f].
I also have to confess that I’m a strong referential-associated person. I’ve always love the gothic, stylish quirkiness of [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] [name_m]Adams[/name_m], the talent of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Wilde, and [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] from The [name_f]Secret[/name_f] World of [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f]. [name_m]Hence[/name_m] the use of these names.
Also I’m just very attracted to names that are more masculine, not just unisex.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] - I like day of the week names, but [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is not my favorite. I would prefer [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f]. Overall, I think you have better names on your list.
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde - This is my favorite! I love [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde. They balance each other perfectly, and I like the [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Wilde reference.
[name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like [name_u]Glen[/name_u], don’t like [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] (though I do love the Borrowers!). This is my least favorite on the list.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine - I’ve never heard of Elodine. It seems a bit feminine and frilly for your taste. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is also not my favorite. [name_f]Indie[/name_f], maybe?
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f]. Would probably prefer it with a different middle, but I do love alliteration. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]?
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - Sweet and southern. Works well and I like it, but less exciting than your other choices.
My favorites are [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde sounds very sleek and glamorous, and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] quirky and whimsical. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is also very pretty, has a very sweet and playful feel.
I’m lukewarm on [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is just such a distinct surname that it doesn’t flow to me as a first. The aliteration is great though. I love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] but never heard of Elodine. I would much prefer [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] (or even [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], though it’s a lot of id/di)
Least favorite is [name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f]. I know [name_u]Glen[/name_u] has unisex cred, but I see it as very male and paired with the out-there middle of [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f], I find the combo messy.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] - I like this a lot, it’s really cute. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is such a pretty name.
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde - I love this. Has such a nice ring to it.
[name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] - Not a fan.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine - I’m not a huge fan, but it’s a pretty combo.
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] - I’d steer clear of this one.
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - I like this combo, it’s very pretty.
I love [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde - it’s a perfect mix of modern and literary! [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is beautifully vintage, too! [name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] is probably my least favourite, as I’m not a fan of [name_u]Glen[/name_u].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] - I’d imagine [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]'s first name to have 3 syllable, but maybe that’s just personal preference.
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde - The names are complimentary in contrast. Interesting!
[name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] - I’m not so fond of this at all. [name_u]Glen[/name_u] on a girl, or [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] at all.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine - Also, a fascinating combo. I’d think [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], rather than Elodine though.
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] - I’d swap them for [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f]. Although the names are so contrasting, [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] so harsh and [name_f]Belle[/name_f] so soft, I’d probably steer away from it.
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - This flows beautifully, and I can imagine it most on a real person.
I like [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f], but I am not a fan of the combos. Sorry! I think that [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Wilde would be the best combo out of the ones you wrote, and the worst, in my opinion, are [name_u]Glen[/name_u] [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Elodine and [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is my least favorite.
