Well, after hoping for a girl after two boys, it looks like there will be THREE girlies. With everything that has to be done and chasing two little boys around, we’ve almost forgotten to think of names! Anyways, we spent quite a long time choosing names for our first two, both of whom have family names as middle names. We have decided not to go down the family name road for the girls, but are trying to have unique, girly names followed by something tried and true. This is what we have come up with:
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (possibly nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f])
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (unsure about [name_f]Madeline[/name_f])
What is you opinion on these names? Also, do you have any suggestions? Their brothers’ names are [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] “[name_u]Alex[/name_u]” [name_m]Ross[/name_m] (6) and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] “[name_m]Archie[/name_m]” [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] (3), if that makes a difference.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] work very well together. They feel like is sisters (all vintage names) but do not seem too matchy. After using two ‘A’ names for your sons, I think it is good to be adding names that begin with different letters.
I think your first- middle name combos are fine though with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]'s middle name beginning with the same first letter as sister [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]'s first name and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]'s first middle name beginning with the same first letter as sister [name_f]Margot[/name_f]'s first name, I might consider a name beginning with B for [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]'s middle name.
I think they all work really well together, and they’re pretty names. If it were me, I’d change it up just a little bit:
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] - I’m just not a big fan of [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a much prettier and substantial alternative.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] - this is pretty, but if your last name is 2 syllables, I would avoid a 2-2-2 pattern. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] would be nice in that case.
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], and it’s nice to see it out front. I like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] in general, but it doesn’t sound right with [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] due to the repeating long I sound. So actually I think I’d reconfigure a bit again…
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
So, [name_u]Alex[/name_u], [name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
Good luck, and congrats!
ETA: I just read again that your son’s middle name is Ellis, so I’d scrap Elodie, Eleanor, and any other El- names. Some possibilities: Blythe Adelaide, Blythe Felicity, Blythe Isabel, Blythe Matilda (each girl gets an M somewhere), Blythe Rosalie.
I love [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], but dislike [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. It’s nice combo, thou. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is beautiful, but I love [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] or [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (Clah-rah) or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]?
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] and congrats!
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u] - this is a cute name but I don’t love [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nn purely due to them being born in their droves at present (which may be mainly in the uk where I am.)
What I do love is the pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. However, you suggested you might want something a little more daring up front so how about; [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]? [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]? [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] - I hope you use [name_f]Margot[/name_f] it is just a fantastic name. I again agree with pp that you may need another syllable in the middle.
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] - [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is beautiful. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] doesn’t do it for me. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]? There are so many 2 or 3 syllable options for [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]. All of which I would happily discuss at length tee hee
I actually love them, just as they are! [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] work incredibly well together, and as little sisters to [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. I love the combos just as they are, too, and the nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is darling. I think [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is lovely, but depending on your pronunciation of [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], I might change my mind? If you say it like the literary [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (with a -line ending), then I think it’s a little “eye” heavy, but I am not a fan of the -line ending with the lynn pronunciation, either. It just doesn’t make sense to me at all, and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] (at least, for me!), takes away all that ambiguity. I think either [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] would be gorgeous, and fits in really well with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], and [name_f]Margot[/name_f], too.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] & [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] are great for triplets! [name_u]Unique[/name_u], but all have a similar feel. I’m not a huge fan of any though. The middles you’ve chosen I would call boring. [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f] & [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]? [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] & [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]?
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
I don’t know, just an idea.
