What do you think of these names?

H, can you please give me some opinions on these names, nicknames, likes and dislikes, why and assiosiations with the name, just whatever you feel like saying about each name? Thankyou So Much…

[name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Rory[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Finley[/name]
[name]Scout[/name]
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Gigi[/name]
[name]Sierra[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name]

For some of the shorter names ([name]Sadie[/name], [name]Cleo[/name], [name]Gigi[/name]) what would work as full names for them?

[name]Aurora[/name] – is nice enough but not really my style
[name]Rory[/name] – i went to school with a guy called [name]Rory[/name], so the name is all boy to me.
[name]Cleo[/name] – I really like [name]Cleo[/name]/[name]Clio[/name]. I think it stands alone just fine and doesn’t need a longer name, the only one I can think of is [name]Cleopatra[/name], but that’s a little over the top!
[name]Sadie[/name] – is very sweet, I like it. It’s meant to be a nickname for [name]Sarah[/name] I think. I also remember this random singsong that goes, “[name]Sadie[/name] the cleaning lady” << I just googled it, it’s a John Farnham song! (Sadie the Cleaning Lady - YouTube)
Finley – don’t like on a girl and prefer Finn on its own for a boy
Scout – not my style, i’d prefer it as a nickname for something else…not idea what though.
Piper – ok
Gigi – only as a nickname. Georgia could be a longer version.
Sierra – only ok
Elodie – I like it alot!
Aria – Very nice, quite popular here in NZ (top 100 i believe)
Spencer – no, only on a boy
Hadley – no, only on a boy
Amelia/Amelie – i prefer Amelie (love the Audrey Tatou film!) .Both names are very nice and I can totally see the appeal, i just find them a little overexposed and somewhat bland and predictable these days.

[name]Aurora[/name]-It reminds me of Sleeping Beauty. I really love [name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name].
[name]Rory[/name]-I think of the character on [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls. I’m usually not a fan of unisex names, but I do love the idea of just [name]Rory[/name] and not [name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name].
[name]Cleo[/name]-I love [name]Cleo[/name]/[name]Clio[/name]! I like that [name]Clio[/name] is the Greek muse of [name]History[/name]. :] It’s definitely unusual, but a good unusual. I’d love to meet a [name]Cleo[/name]! I think [name]Cleo[/name] can work on its own, but as a full name I think you could do [name]Claire[/name] or [name]Clara[/name] as a first name and then a middle name with an O somewhere and it would work. I remember reading on Appellation Mountain , that [name]Abby[/name]'s daughter is named [name]Claire[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Wren[/name] nn [name]Clio[/name]. (http://appellationmountain.net/2008/10/10/site-news-all-about-clio/)
[name]Sadie[/name]-I think of [name]Sadie[/name] Hawkins dance. It’s not my favorite name but it’s growing on me. [name]Sadie[/name] works on its own,but [name]Sarah[/name] could work, as I guess that [name]Sadie[/name] is actually a diminutive of [name]Sarah[/name].
[name]Finley[/name]- I love [name]Finley[/name] but I prefer it as a boy name.
[name]Scout[/name]-To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books!I also think of Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts. It’s wonderfully unexpected. :] I feel that with that t ending (like with [name]Scarlett[/name] or [name]Violet[/name]) and the fact that [name]Scout[/name] is unisex, you might want a more feminine middle name.
[name]Piper[/name]-Musical and spunky! The name is almost too energetic for me, if that makes sense.
[name]Gigi[/name]-Honestly I think anything with a G could work.[name]Gemma[/name], [name]Georgia[/name],[name]Georgina[/name],[name]Georgiana[/name],[name]Gianna[/name],[name]Genevieve[/name](if you’re using the more American pronunciation at least)[name]Geneva[/name],[name]Ginevra[/name],and [name]Gina[/name]. [name]Giselle[/name] and even [name]Grace[/name] could work as well.
[name]Sierra[/name]-I think of the [name]Sierra[/name] [name]Nevada[/name] mountain range, and also of the Broadway actress [name]Sierra[/name] Boggess, who is one of my favorite actresses! I’m not a huge fan of the name, though.
[name]Elodie[/name]-This is one of my favorites! I think of Élodie Bouchez, an actress I first saw on Alias. It’s a beautiful name, and a wonderful alternative for a way to get to [name]Ellie[/name] (as opposed to [name]Ella[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name]/[name]Eliana[/name]) if you’re an [name]Ellie[/name] fan.
[name]Aria[/name]-Musical and beautiful. It’s getting popular as a name on Pretty [name]Little[/name] Liars. I also love the spelling variation [name]Arya[/name] from [name]George[/name] R.R. [name]Martin[/name]'s A Song of Ice and [name]Fire[/name] series.
[name]Spencer[/name]-I think of the late Lady [name]Diana[/name] [name]Spencer[/name]. I prefer [name]Spencer[/name] on boys.
[name]Hadley[/name]- I think of [name]Remy[/name] “Thirteen” [name]Hadley[/name] on House and of [name]Ernest[/name] [name]Hemingway[/name]. I’m not a fan of the name, sorry.
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name]-I think of [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Earhart[/name], the [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Bedelia[/name] books, [name]Amelia[/name] Bones from [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] “[name]Amy[/name]” Pond from [name]Doctor[/name] Who, all of which are wonderful associations! I love [name]Amelia[/name] but it’s very popular at the moment and I don’t know if that fazes you. It’s a gorgeous name though.
[name]Amelie[/name] is one of my favorites (it’s on my list) and I think it’s a wonderful alternative to [name]Amelia[/name]. I also love the movie Amélie! The only downside of the name to me is the potential pronunciation issues. I pronounce it the French way, but I feel Americans are more likely to pronounce it Aw-milly (Although I think [name]Amelie[/name] nn [name]Milly[/name]/[name]Millie[/name] would actually be quite precious) or accidentally say [name]Emily[/name] or even butcher it and use a long a sound.

[name]Hope[/name] this helps! :]

Those are lovely! I love [name]Finley[/name], [name]Spencer[/name], and [name]Hadley[/name] the most. =]
My opinions: [name]Skip[/name] using [name]Aurora[/name] and just go with [name]Rory[/name].
[name]Cleo[/name]/[name]Sadie[/name]/[name]Scout[/name] all sound like pet names to me. Maybe just use as nicknames?
My grandmother’s name is [name]Gloria[/name] nn [name]Gigi[/name]. You could also use [name]Virginia[/name], [name]Ginevieve[/name], or [name]Ginevra[/name]/[name]Guinevere[/name].

[name]Aurora[/name] - I like it a fair amount, especially with nn [name]Rory[/name].
[name]Rory[/name] - (see above)
[name]Cleo[/name] - it’s alright. I think of the goldfish from Pinocchio.
[name]Sadie[/name] - sounds like a dog’s name. I’ve known about 3 dogs named [name]Sadie[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t like it. I think it sounds like a “toddler beauty pageant contestant” on a human.
[name]Finley[/name] - for a girl? NO! Absolutely not!
[name]Scout[/name] - TKAM association aside, this name annoys me for some reason. Like it’s just trying way too hard to be “spunky and cool”. I feel a panic attack coming on just thinking about it.
[name]Piper[/name] - (see above, minus TKAM)
[name]Gigi[/name] - my BF and his family used to call his great-grandma by this name. (her real name was [name]Ruth[/name]) It could grow on me as a nickname for something though.
[name]Sierra[/name] - I remember when I lived in Las [name]Vegas[/name] this name was all over the place, so I’m burnt out on this one. Otherwise, it’s okay, though I kind of like [name]Sienna[/name] better.
[name]Elodie[/name] - it just sounds too silly to me.
[name]Aria[/name] - Sure, it’s short and sweet, but a little vowel-heavy.
[name]Spencer[/name] - Ick, not on a girl! I used to have a crush on a boy named [name]Spencer[/name] when I was little, so this would just be awkward.
[name]Hadley[/name] - not an attractive sound to me, regardless of gender.
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name] - ugh, this one got old fast.

Thanks for your help, These are all names that I love and it is nice to see other people’s opinions on them! Thanks so much

[name]Aurora[/name] - It’s ok. Too princessy for me.
[name]Rory[/name] - It’s ok as a nn.
[name]Cleo[/name] - Too nicknamey… or a cat name… or something. I don’t know, something just really turns me off about this name.
[name]Sadie[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Finley[/name] - Too masculine/trendy sounding.
[name]Scout[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like at all.
[name]Piper[/name] - I like this. It’s spunky and cute without being “cutesy”.
[name]Gigi[/name] - [name]Way[/name] too nicknamey or like a poodle’s name. Maybe as a nn for something?
[name]Sierra[/name] - I like it, what about [name]Sienna[/name]?
[name]Elodie[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! Fits in nicely with the other “el” names without being yet another [name]Ella[/name] or [name]Ellie[/name]. More nn potential too - maybe Lo or [name]Dee[/name]?
[name]Aria[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! GP name of mine.
[name]Spencer[/name] - This is a boy name. TBH I think it’s ugly on a girl.
[name]Hadley[/name] - Too trendy.
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name] - I like them both but prefer [name]Amelia[/name].

[name]Hope[/name] you don’t mind my brutal honesty, but I figure you want genuine opinions…
[name]Aurora[/name] - I find it a bit awkward to say & feels a bit ‘try hard’…the only exception would be if you always called her [name]Rory[/name]
[name]Rory[/name] - too much a boy’s name to me to be used formally, but a great nn for [name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it, can’t think of longer version except [name]Cleopatra[/name] (which would be awful)
[name]Sadie[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t mind it, but sounds more like a nn to me and a bit plain. Originally I think it was nn for [name]Sarah[/name]
[name]Finley[/name] - Too masculine
[name]Scout[/name] - Honestly undecided on this one. Personally, would be put off because it doesn’t have good nn options
[name]Piper[/name] - NMS
[name]Gigi[/name] - Cute nn, but not a ‘proper’ name. My daughter [name]Gabrielle[/name] gets the nn [name]Gabby[/name]-Girl, which becomes G-G ([name]Gigi[/name]) so I think any name starting with G could work as a full name
[name]Sierra[/name] - NMS
[name]Elodie[/name] - Always sounds like mispronounced [name]Melody[/name] to me
[name]Aria[/name] - NMS
[name]Spencer[/name] - Too masculine
[name]Hadley[/name] - Too masculine
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name] - Like, but possibly too popular (depending where you are)

[name]Aurora[/name]~ It’s nice. Right now people are thinking about the shooting, but it’ll be forgotten eventually.
[name]Rory[/name]~Okay. It sounds kind of funny when I say it. A little awkward.
[name]Cleo[/name]~This is fine as a full name [name]IMO[/name]. It’s a little too popular for me.
[name]Sadie[/name]~Ditto. I know a girl with this name and it works.
[name]Finley[/name]~A little too trendy and it seems like a boys’ name to me. [name]Finula[/name] nn [name]Fin[/name]?
[name]Scout[/name]~I dislike this one. Trendy and hard to take seriously.
[name]Piper[/name]~Cute. Not very serious, though.
[name]Gigi[/name]~[name]Georgia[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Geneva[/name], anything that starts with a G, really.
[name]Sierra[/name]~I don’t love it. A little dated.
[name]Elodie[/name]~Cute but not really my style. I think most people will like it.
[name]Aria[/name]~I really like this one. I like the simplicity.
[name]Spencer[/name]~Okay. I guess I’m not sure how I feel about this one.
[name]Hadley[/name]~Nice, even though it might seem dated in thirty years.
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name]~[name]Amelie[/name] is a million times better. [name]Amelia[/name] is boring.

Aurora- Love!
Rory- I love it as a nickname for Aurora
Cleo- I think it’s cute.
Sadie- I know 3 dogs named Sadie. Maybe it’s just where I live but Sadie is a puppy name for me.
Finley- It’s okay. It’s not my favourite, yet I don’t dislike it.
Scout- I love Scout! The To Kill a Mockingbrid association makes me love it even more!
Piper- I think it cute!
Gigi- I would use it as a nickname for Georgia or Georgiana.
Sierra- I like it but it’s getting really popular I now. I know two baby Sierras and one teenage Sierra spelled Ciarra. And I know one baby Sienna.
Elodie- It’s pretty.
Aria- I LOVE Aria! I have always loved Aria ever since when I was eight and I saw the name Aria in a namebook. I also love Pretty Little Liars.
Spencer- I think of Spencer Hastings from PLL.
Hadley- Same as Finley.
Amelia/Amelie- My neighbours had a little girl named Amélie 6 months ago! I love the name!

[name]Aurora[/name] - it’s okay, a little fussy for my tastes. I like the nature connection though.
[name]Rory[/name] - I like it as a nn for [name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name] - this is cool! I like [name]Clea[/name] ([name]Clay[/name]-uh) too
[name]Sadie[/name] - this is cute, but I don’t like that it has “Sad” in it. Technically, [name]Sadie[/name] is a diminutive of [name]Sarah[/name], so that could be the “full” name. I think [name]Zadie[/name] is cool too.
[name]Finley[/name] - I don’t like this for a girl…reminds me of a dog’s name.
[name]Scout[/name] - Despite the Mockingbird connection…see [name]Finley[/name].
[name]Piper[/name] - this is okay. I like the nn [name]Pip[/name], but prefer [name]Philippa[/name] or [name]Pippa[/name].
[name]Gigi[/name] - I’m sorry, I really don’t like this.
[name]Sierra[/name] - pretty. [name]Savannah[/name] or [name]Sienna[/name] could be alternatives.
[name]Elodie[/name] - I like this but prefer [name]Eloise[/name].
[name]Aria[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]!
[name]Spencer[/name] - this is cool for a girl, but I prefer it on a boy
[name]Hadley[/name] - see [name]Finley[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name] - love

[name]Aurora[/name] - My mom’s name, I’ve always loved it.
[name]Rory[/name] - My mom’s nn, spelled [name]Rori[/name]. I would seriously consider it for a boy.
[name]Cleo[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! I tried to use it as a nn for my cat, [name]Clementine[/name], but it didn’t stick. I also really like [name]Clea[/name].
[name]Sadie[/name] - I like it a lot. Short and sweet. I prefer it as a full name.
[name]Finley[/name] - I like it much more on a boy.
[name]Scout[/name] - Too nicknamey for me personally.
[name]Piper[/name] - I can’t really get into this one but it’s okay for someone else’s kid.
[name]Gigi[/name] - Super cute nn. I think you could really get away with using it for any G name. My fave for it is [name]Gillian[/name].
[name]Sierra[/name] - I like it. I’m a sucker for nature names.
[name]Elodie[/name] - I really like this one. I wonder how many people would mishear it as [name]Melody[/name] or [name]Eloise[/name] or some other name, tho.
[name]Aria[/name] - NMS
[name]Spencer[/name] - Bad association.
[name]Hadley[/name] - Okay
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name] - I like [name]Amelie[/name]. I prefer [name]Emelia[/name] to [name]Amelia[/name].

I always find [name]Rory[/name] a little too hard to say. I love [name]Gigi[/name], though…knew one once, with a sister [name]Ruby[/name].

[name]Aurora[/name] - I like [name]Aurora[/name], but I couldn’t see myself using it for anything else but a middle name

[name]Rory[/name] - I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Rory[/name] on a boy… Not a fan of it on a girl really

[name]Cleo[/name] - I adore [name]Cleo[/name]. It’s about my number one middle name.

[name]Sadie[/name] - I like this name quite a bit. It would be on my list if I let myself have repeating letters ([name]Scarlett[/name] is my number one)

[name]Finley[/name] - boys name

[name]Scout[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Scout[/name], but don’t like it as a nickname for [name]Scarlett[/name]… It’s strange

[name]Piper[/name] - I do like [name]Piper[/name] a lot, but it always sounds a little harsh to be. I keep in the middle name spot.

[name]Gigi[/name] - I think this nickname is cute. I usually associate it with [name]Ginger[/name] (which I love), sometimes [name]Georgia[/name]

[name]Sierra[/name] - not a fan at all

[name]Elodie[/name] - I think this is gorgeous, I would use it in a heartbeat if my boyfriend liked it

[name]Aria[/name] - I was a choir kid, so [name]Aria[/name] has a special place in my heart, but I don’t think I could use it. Reminds me too much of the actress [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Hale[/name] and I dont favor her.

[name]Spencer[/name] - boys name

[name]Hadley[/name] - I do like this, I think it’s cute

[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name] - I love both of these, [name]Amelia[/name] is in my top five

[name]Aurora[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it, but I agree with a lot of other posters: too princessy and maybe unrealistic for a real person.
[name]Rory[/name] - I used to think it was fine as a girl’s name, but I think I’ve been influenced otherwise.
[name]Cleo[/name] - It’s cute.
[name]Sadie[/name] - Not a fan. Maybe it’s good for a kid who lives in ‘[name]Little[/name] House on the [name]Prairie[/name]’ world.
[name]Finley[/name] - Not for a girl.
[name]Scout[/name] - I think it’s terrible for a girl.
[name]Piper[/name] - I love it because [name]Piper[/name] is my favorite from Charmed, but I’d never use it for the same reason.
[name]Gigi[/name] - It could be a nickname for something like [name]Georgia[/name].
[name]Sierra[/name] - It’s fine.
[name]Elodie[/name] - I love this one! If I had my way, it would be on my list.
[name]Aria[/name] - …not a fan. Kind of boring.
[name]Spencer[/name] - It’s okay for a boy.
[name]Hadley[/name] - I never understood why anyone liked this name for girls or boys. To me, it’s strictly a surname.
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it. But it’s too popular now.

[name]Aurora[/name] - Very pretty. I like it very much.
[name]Rory[/name] - Boy’s name.
[name]Cleo[/name] - Like, but prefer [name]Clio[/name].
[name]Sadie[/name] - Super cute!
[name]Finley[/name] - Boy’s name.
[name]Scout[/name] - Spunky!
[name]Piper[/name] - Like it, reminds me of Charmed.
[name]Gigi[/name] - nn for grandmother, so a little weird.
[name]Sierra[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this. Very cool.
[name]Elodie[/name] - Beautiful.
[name]Aria[/name] - Another very beautiful one.
[name]Spencer[/name] - Boy’s name.
[name]Hadley[/name] - nope.
[name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelie[/name] - Find this very boring, but it’s a nice name.

I like:
[name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] nn [name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Amelie[/name]
