I’m kind of in a name lull. I know I love the names in my signature, but I think I’ve been in my own head about them for too long and I need some feedback from others to help me out. I feel like they’re getting a little stale or too familiar, for a lack of a better word. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are going to TTC the end of the summer so I need to start regaining some name enthusiasm.
So, let me know what you think of my names in my signature! Thanks!
I love [name_m]Miles[/name_m]/[name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and I think [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] is adorable! I love most of your girls’ list, in particular [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]/[name_f]Bea[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] is a great nickname for [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f].
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] - I personally would not use a nickname, although I do love [name_m]Dex[/name_m].
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] - I would also not use a nickname with [name_m]Miles[/name_m].
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u] - Until, I researched the show [name_u]Dexter[/name_u]. Normally I do not let that bother me but this time it does.
[name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_u]Reed[/name_u] - although I slightly prefer [name_u]Reid[/name_u]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] - [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] has been growing on me.
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] has also been growing on me.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]/[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_m]Dex[/name_m] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m] would only be used occasionally if at all. They’re just sort of there as considerations. We sometimes call my daughter [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] as a “nickname,” but usually just call her [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. So it’s the same idea.
I have never seen the show [name_u]Dexter[/name_u], but I am nervous to research it. All I know is that he is a serial killer but I fear if I learned more specifics or ever watched the show, I could be turned off and I don’t want to. I know it was somewhat popular, but it wasn’t overly popular where I think the name would be ruined. Right…?
I teeter between [name_u]Reid[/name_u] and [name_u]Reed[/name_u].
I love a lot of your girls names, especially [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], and also [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] (just added [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f] to my list for a boy), [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]. Your boys names aren’t really my style, but I do like [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and [name_u]Reed[/name_u] (prefer [name_u]Reid[/name_u] though), and I’m starting to warm to [name_m]John[/name_m] thanks to character associations (same with [name_f]Mary[/name_f]).
I like [name_m]Declan[/name_m], [name_u]Dexter[/name_u], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_u]Reed[/name_u]. They’re all different enough to stand out but not unfamiliar.
I like [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. I love unusual but classic names that are ready for a restoration. Vintage styles seem so elegant for little girls and these are no exception! I know what you mean about losing interest in your names because I get ‘bored’, for want of a better word, of my lists and update them so often but if you fall back to the same ones then you know they’re keepers X
I love your boy names, [name_m]Dex[/name_m] being my favorite. [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] is ok, but I am liking it as a standalone [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_u]Reed[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I really like most [name_m]Fin[/name_m]- names too, [name_u]Finley[/name_u], Finnick, [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]. Cute names
I can’t say I appreciate the beauty as much in the girls names. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is really pretty and simple, I like that one! Good luck TTC btw
