So I’ve recently revamped my boys list and I’m wondering what you guys think of the names on it.
[name_m]Clive[/name_m] [name_u]Darcy[/name_u]- After C.S. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], [name_m]Clive[/name_m] is my current favorite boys name. He has had several different middles, but [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] is the one that has stuck the most. [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]- Loving [name_u]Asa[/name_u] right now! [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]- I know [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is supposed to be a girl name, but for me it sounds more masculine and I think with the classic [name_u]James[/name_u] in the middle it sounds like it was made for a boy. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]- One “O” too many? [name_m]Simeon[/name_m]- I recently met a [name_m]Simeon[/name_m] and he wore the name really well, but I don’t know what a good middle would be. [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]- I like it in the middle spot to honor someone, but am not sure about what first name to put with it. Ideas?
[name_m]Clive[/name_m] [name_u]Darcy[/name_u]- So glad to see someone else who likes [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] for a boy! [name_m]Clive[/name_m] is a nice name too.
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]- I’m not a huge fan of either name. [name_u]Asa[/name_u]'s pronunciation slightly confuses me (it never sounds right however I say it), but the combo does flow well.
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]- Yes! I think [name_f]Briar[/name_f] sounds very masculine (maybe because it reminds me of. Friar?), and if [name_u]James[/name_u] can apparently work on a girl, then why not the other way?
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]- I love both names, so much! But I agree the O sound might be a bit too much.
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m]- I really like [name_m]Simeon[/name_m]. [name_m]Way[/name_m] more interesting than [name_m]Simon[/name_m], in my opinion, and it looks nice visually too.
Maybe if you swap some middles for [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Simeon[/name_m]:
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m] [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or some other options
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m] [name_m]Forest[/name_m] (part of one of my combos)
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u]
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] (part of one of my combos)
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_u]Kai[/name_u]
[name_m]Clive[/name_m] [name_u]Darcy[/name_u]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] this, so dashing! This sounds very British to me.
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]- perfect, [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is such a ‘cool’ name.
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]- [name_f]Briar[/name_f] could work on a boy but I wouldn’t pair it with [name_u]James[/name_u] as I see people using [name_u]James[/name_u] in the middle on girls now so the combo reads unisex leaning feminine to me. Maybe [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]Christoph[/name_m] or [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m].
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]- I love [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. I do feel like [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] makes this combo sound heavy. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is nice.
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m]- I like [name_m]Simeon[/name_m] but prefer [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. Since I moved [name_u]James[/name_u] from [name_f]Briar[/name_f] I would put it here. [name_m]Simeon[/name_m] Ja es is handsome
One of my children middle name is [name_m]Simeon[/name_m]. I actually call him it more than his first name. People kind of look at my funny when I am hollering to him, '[name_m]Sim[/name_m]!! [name_m]Simmy[/name_m]!!!" lol. I think it is an amazing gorgeous name though.
I love your style. It’s really nice.
[name_m]Clive[/name_m] [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] is very interesting, I’d want to know this person
Not a fan of [name_u]Asa[/name_u] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] so that name is kind of ehhh to me. [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is a great name for a boy, but reminded me of just [name_f]Grier[/name_f], which IS a boys name and almost exactly the same?
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is such an adorable name, I’ve always loved [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] - it’s so exotic feeling and sharp, strong.
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Simeon[/name_m]? [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] [name_f]Grier[/name_f], those would be my favorites mentioned.
[name_m]Clive[/name_m] [name_u]Darcy[/name_u]-I love this combo! [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] is a GP of mine, but using [name_m]Clive[/name_m] is genius! I have [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] on my list (for C.S. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]) but I had never thought about using [name_m]Clive[/name_m] or Staples.
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]- This one is okay. I’m not an [name_u]Asa[/name_u] fan, but it goes well with [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. To me it sounds regal and kingly.
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]- I love [name_f]Briar[/name_f] for a boy! I like it for a girl, but the only Briars I know (4), are all boys.
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]- I think the “O’s” are fine. It depends on how you pronounce [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m], but I think they flow well. But, some other middles that would go well with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] if you decide against [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] are [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m]. I also like the previous suggestion of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m].
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m]- I am not a [name_m]Simeon[/name_m] fan, but that’s because of personal reasons. I think [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] would go well with it, but that may be too Disciple-y. [name_m]Titus[/name_m], [name_m]Eugene[/name_m], [name_m]Clarence[/name_m], and even [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] would sound good with it.
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m]- [name_m]Simeon[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] would be cute. [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_m]Adam[/name_m], and [name_m]Jared[/name_m] would all be good first names for it. If you don’t really like [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], you could always use a variant of the name i.e. [name_m]Kristoff[/name_m], [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_m]Kip[/name_m], [name_m]Kristo[/name_m], Kristofferson, or [name_m]Christian[/name_m].
I love [name_m]Clive[/name_m] [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] and [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]! Also love [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], but not sure I love [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] as a combo. Not because of the o’s though, I think I just don’t love [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]. It works.
