I am trying to form a list of names for our second baby. What do you think of these girl names? I love a lot of names but none that stand out as a favourite.
And do you have any suggestions for me? I like names that are uncommon but not unusual. I lean toward older names. I don’t have any middle names picked out yet.
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Adele[/name_f] - too much association with the singer?
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Bree[/name_f]
[name_f]Lainey[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] - Simple, spunky and cute. I like this very much!
[name_f]Adele[/name_f] - It is a lovely name on its own, but yes the association with the singer is definitely there.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - Common and rather blah to me.
[name_f]Bree[/name_f] - Also very common, and kind of small-town country in feel.
[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] - I feel neutral about this, it’s not my style but is a sweet, safe pick.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - Vintage and full of character!
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] - Another sweet, safe, inoffensive name.
[name_f]Renee[/name_f] - Worldly intrigue, I really like this.
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] - Sweet and spunky, familiar yet not too common. I also like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] - Not my style, but I can see its earthy appeal.
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - Too common for me, but a nice simple name.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Briony[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ilana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lacey[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Ada[/name_f]!!! [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] are also nice.
[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] is a great nn for [name_f]Elena[/name_f]; and I love the suggestion of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] would be a beautiful name for a little girl. Have fun choosing!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]. And both could have a multi-syllable middle name.
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Justine[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (instead of [name_f]Adele[/name_f])
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Eileen[/name_f]
Among your list I see a lot names I hear on a regular basis, [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. To me [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] really pops out as well as [name_f]Renee[/name_f], they would be my choices from your list.
[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] - together sounds like a sweet and spunky girl to me.
Other names you might like:
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Erin[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
What’s your first child’s name?
This might vary by region (I live in [name_f]Canada[/name_f]) but I don’t associate the name [name_f]Adele[/name_f] that closely with the singer - it’s been a reasonably well-known name for a long time, and while I’m certainly aware of [name_f]Adele[/name_f] and some of her music, she isn’t so prominent here to me, at least right now. Plus, at least in my opinion, being vaguely associated with her wouldn’t be a bad thing - she’s a well-respected musician and I know very little about her personal life, so even if her music isn’t your style, I don’t think there’s a lot to dislike about her. (Famous last words, I know!)
Of the names on your list, I really like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] (I’d use [name_f]Tess[/name_f] as a nickname), [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f].
[name_f]Renee[/name_f] is a lovely name but to me it’s quite dated - very 1970s. [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] and [name_f]Bree[/name_f] both feel really nicknamey to me - I like either but I’d want a longer full name with either as the nickname. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] doesn’t do much for me but for no particular reason - it’s just not my style I guess. I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] OK but I love [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as its nickname - it feels a bit more sophisticated to me and has a kind of musical quality I really like.
You might like (sorry for any repeats):
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] (either could get you to [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] as a nickname)
[name_f]Bria[/name_f] or Breagh
[name_f]Maria[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Norah[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your list!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Adela[/name_f]? A slight spin on [name_f]Adele[/name_f]?
