YATES FAMILY
[name]Aaron[/name] Yates: The father (and the villain of the story)
[name]Tammy[/name] Yates: The mother (not so nice, either)
[name]Sebastian[/name] Yates: [name]Son[/name], age 17
[name]Violet[/name] Yates: Daughter, age 15 and a friend of [name]Jamie[/name] and [name]Elena[/name]'s.
(Note: The names in this family are inspired by [name]Shakespeare[/name]. [name]Aaron[/name] and [name]Tamora[/name] were villainous lovers in [name]Titus[/name] Andronicus, and [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Viola[/name] are twins in Twelfth [name]Night[/name].)

KIRKPATRICK/ [name]WALKER[/name]/ QUINN EXTENDED FAMILY

[name]Luke[/name] Kirkpatrick: The father
Harpreet Kirkpatrick: The mother (divorced)
[name]Tiberius[/name] [name]Rex[/name] Kirkpatrick: [name]Son[/name], age 16 (goes by [name]Rex[/name] or T-[name]Rex[/name])

[name]Elsa[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]: Marries [name]Luke[/name] after the divorce
[name]David[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]: Her deceased ex-husband
[name]Caspar[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]: [name]Son[/name], age 18
[name]Wolfgang[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]: [name]Son[/name], age 14

[name]Paul[/name] [name]Walker[/name]: Marries Harpreet after the divorce.
[name]Annika[/name] [name]Skye[/name] “[name]Annie[/name]” [name]Walker[/name]: [name]Paul[/name] and Harpreet’s daughter, age 10.

Definitely not a fan of Benajmina, and [name]Annika[/name] [name]Skye[/name] [name]Walker[/name] is way too [name]Star[/name] Wars!

[name]Love[/name] them! They seem to fit together nicely.

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

[name]Weaver[/name] Family: [name]Benjamina[/name] and [name]Deirdre[/name] don’t sound at all like sister names, but their nicknames have a similar sound, which helps. [name]Benjamina[/name] strikes me as plain odd, but maybe that’s what you’re going for. The other names are fabulous and classic.

[name]Wiley[/name] Family: [name]Love[/name] all the names here, especially [name]Elena[/name]. Each has a distinctive image, which is great.

Adler Family: Nice names, if a little plain. None of them jump out at me as being special.

Yates Family: I love how you based the names off of Shakespearean characters, while changing them enough that the reference isn’t obvious. They’re fantastic!

Kirkpatricks: [name]Luke[/name] Kirkpatrick is really hard to say because of the “k” sounds. Harpreet is very different, and I like the sound of it. I love the nickname T-[name]Rex[/name], especially for a 16-year-old boy. It sounds like he’s rebelling against his prestigious first name.

Quinns: These names go together marvelously, especially [name]Caspar[/name] and [name]Wolfgang[/name]. Old-fashioned while still sounding strong and masculine.

Walkers: While I love [name]Annika[/name] [name]Skye[/name] [name]Walker[/name], the [name]Star[/name] Wars reference is blatantly obvious to the point of annoying. [name]Even[/name] changing the middle name to something like [name]Sage[/name] would fix the problem.

Overall, very unique and creative names! Good luck on your story!

Thanks so much, guys!

Oh, a little background on some of the characters:

In the [name]Weaver[/name] family, the firstborn son has been named [name]Benjamin[/name] for five generations, but the wife promised her dying father that she would name her firstborn son [name]George[/name] after him (before she met her husband). They compromised by naming their firstborn child [name]Benjamina[/name], and her twin brother [name]George[/name]. “[name]Benjamina[/name]” herself HATES the name and gets really upset if people call her anything but [name]Jamie[/name]. Meanwhile, [name]George[/name] really feels like he’s living in his father and sister’s shadow, and sees the fact that he was not named after his father as just one of many signs that he’s the least-loved twin and unable to live up to his dad’s example.

I agree that [name]Deirdre[/name] doesn’t really match with [name]Benjamina[/name], but I really wanted the Weavers to name a kid after their best friend, who had died shortly before their daughter’s birth.

Also, [name]Luke[/name] and Harpreet Kirkpatrick were [name]MAJOR[/name] sci-fi nerds. They named their biological kids ‘joke names’ on purpose. [name]Annika[/name] goes by [name]Annie[/name], and “[name]Annie[/name] [name]Walker[/name]” doesn’t sound like a blatant joke, but the name is still embarrassing. As for [name]Rex[/name], “[name]Tiberius[/name] Kirkpatrick” is a bit of a joke by itself-- a reference to [name]James[/name] [name]Tiberius[/name] [name]Kirk[/name] of [name]Star[/name] Trek, though more subtle than his half-sister. I only named his dad [name]Luke[/name] so that there would be even more sci-fi references in there, but since he didn’t choose his own name, I think I’ll change that to something else.

(Also, [name]Elsa[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] is [name]German[/name] and named her two kids after [name]Wolfgang[/name] von Goethe and [name]Caspar[/name] [name]Friedrich[/name].)

Not trying to sound even slightly offensive AT ALL, but how is it a compromise to call their first born [name]Benjamina[/name]? I think it would make more sense to name her twin brother [name]Benjamin[/name] with a nn ([name]Ben[/name], [name]Benny[/name], Benj) to prevent confusion between him and his father, as it keeps the traditional of naming the first born son [name]Benjamin[/name] while still sounding realistic. Also, [name]George[/name] is the name of one of the Weasley twins in [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name], which makes it less unique for a twin and which many people will notice due to the popularity of the books. If you have your heart set on the name [name]George[/name] or nn [name]Jamie[/name], you might try naming the twin sister [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Georgina[/name], [name]Jamila[/name], [name]Jamison[/name] etc.

[name]Love[/name] just about everything else though. Good luck!

I don’t know if it matters because he doesn’t seem to be a main character, but the name [name]Paul[/name] [name]Walker[/name] makes me think of the actor from the Fast & Furious franchise.
