What Do You Think of These Uncommon Names?

What are your opinions on the three names listed below?

  1. Wirth

  2. [name_m]Sutter[/name_m]

  3. [name_u]Storm[/name_u]

Wirth screams two things to me - very apparent surname, and a misspelling of ‘worth’.
[name_m]Sutter[/name_m], again, surname, and reminds me too much of the word ‘stutter’.
[name_u]Storm[/name_u] I don’t mind as much, though the negative connotations related to the word ‘storm’ (‘bad’ or ‘angry’) I don’t necessarily enjoy.

Not a fan.

  1. Makes me think of an old man that I knew with the last name Wirth. Also makes me think of a name used in the south.

  2. [name_m]Sutter[/name_m] also makes me think of someone I know with that last name. Cute. Fits the surname trend. I like the nn Sut.

  3. Makes me think of [name_f]Kylie[/name_f] Jenner’s daughter, Stormi.

Not a fan of any of them.

I like [name_u]Storm[/name_u]! I know someone who named her son [name_u]Storm[/name_u]. Her own name is [name_u]Rain[/name_u].

[name_m]Sutter[/name_m] is in the surname-as-firstname category for me. It is usable, easy to spell and say and strikes me as Californian due to a thousand things being named after [name_m]Sutter[/name_m] here (the [name_m]Sutter[/name_m] Mill, many hospitals, and streets in different cities).

Wirth I don’t like the sound of… only association that comes to mind is “Birth”.

Not a fan of any of them, too.

I know someone my age (well, friend of a friend) named [name_u]Storm[/name_u]. Suits him beautifully.

I think it’s interesting and haven’t actually heard that many people irl use the word to mean angry. For me it’s more of a lit thing. I can remember when I was in preschool and for the first time met someone named [name_f]Maddie[/name_f]. I thought she was mad. A lot of names can be like this, [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] is brooding, but we don’t think about it as much once we attach it to a person. Maybe [name_u]Storm[/name_u] being a word and uncommon as a name draws that association more.

I’m not into the others sound wise.

  1. Not a fan

  2. I like it, but not when I say it out loud. It’s comes out like “sudder”

  3. [name_u]Storm[/name_u] is nice too! Sucks that it’s now a celeb name

I think [name_u]Storm[/name_u] is okay, but I’d use the Icelandic Stormur or the old Norse Stormr. I’m not a fan of the other two.

I quite like [name_u]Storm[/name_u]. The others don’t appeal to me in sound.
