What do you think of these?

Hey Berries,

I’m trying to work on my list. [name]Just[/name] wanting your thoughts on these:

[name]Josie[/name]: This has been my favourite for a while, even though it’s rather popular. For some reason it has a vintage, dainty charm to me.
[name]Heather[/name]: Loving this for a middle spot right now, and it also honours my grandmother ([name]Heather[/name] [name]Anne[/name] “[name]Anne[/name]”)
[name]Laura[/name]: Yes, kind of dated, but I love it a lot.
[name]Madeleine[/name]: This is also quite popular, but I like the flow of it.
[name]Ruth[/name]: I have loved this for a while now.

I am loving [name]Josie[/name] [name]Heather[/name] and [name]Laura[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] as combos.

Also, please leave some suggestions for me, combos, anything.

Thank you

[name]Josie[/name] - Dated. I really dislike this nickname, even though I love [name]Josephine[/name]. I think it’s quite popular in [name]America[/name] (it’s considered cute there), but, in Australia, it’s considered a tacky 80s name.

[name]Heather[/name] - Dated.

[name]Laura[/name] - A classic, but not quite in the same vein as [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Margaret[/name], etc. I dislike this name, but only based on personal associations with Lauras over the years. Objectively, it’s a nice name.

[name]Madeleine[/name] - Nice, but nothing spectacular. There’s a million Madelines out there.

[name]Ruth[/name] - Old fashioned, maybe ready for a comeback.

As for your combinations, [name]Laura[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] is perfectly nice, but [name]Josie[/name] [name]Heather[/name] is awful. [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Heather[/name] would be mildly better.

Old fashioned name suggestions…

[name]Agatha[/name]
[name]Agnes[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name]
[name]Esther[/name]
[name]Ethel[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Frances[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Maude[/name]
[name]Sylvia[/name]

@sarahmezz Yeah, [name]Josie[/name] is pretty dated here in [name]Oz[/name] & NZ.

I love [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Maude[/name], [name]Daphne[/name] & [name]Charlotte[/name]!

[name]Josie[/name]: Cute as a nickname for [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Heather[/name]: This was an option for my mum 42 years ago but it was her cousins name. Dated
[name]Laura[/name]: dated I just can’t imagine on a baby
[name]Ruth[/name]: See laura.

I understand where people are coming from with the idea that [name]Heather[/name] is “dated” but I did choose it for my daughter’s middle name. For one reason only, that it was after my mum. My Mum is [name]Heather[/name] and I always wanted my daughter to share her name. I think it is beautiful simply because my mum is a gorgeous person.

That’s why, despite people’s opinions, you should always go with a name you love. If you and your hubby love it, then you should go with it

[name]Josie[/name]: I totally agree with exactly what you said. It is rising in popularity, but yet is still such a sweet old name. Not entirely sure I like the flow of [name]Josie[/name] [name]Heather[/name], but love the family-ness of it.
[name]Heather[/name]: It feels dated as a first name, but I think you could do something really cute with it in the middle! It’s sweet.
[name]Laura[/name]: I think [name]Laura[/name] is one of those names that won’t stand out as too dated, but isn’t popular. It has a sweet charm to it (thinking [name]Little[/name] House). I prefer [name]Lauren[/name] myself, but still like [name]Laura[/name].
[name]Madeleine[/name]: I have never been a fan of this name, but do like [name]Laura[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] together.
[name]Ruth[/name]: My grandma’s name, so of course I love it! I am really digging [name]Josie[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]. Looking at your signature, [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] is pretty too.

I think names like [name]Grace[/name], [name]Eve[/name]/[name]Eva[/name], [name]Lena[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Eliza[/name], and the ever-popular [name]Charlotte[/name] fit well with your style. Ranging further afield, I like things like [name]Liana[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name]/[name]Penny[/name] or maybe [name]Johanna[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name]?

[name]Madeleine[/name] is my favorite but I like [name]Laura[/name] too! [name]Josie[/name] is a sweet nickname for [name]Josephine[/name] which I love.

Thank you everyone! Keep them coming.

[name]Jasmine[/name]

i really like [name]Josephine[/name] and you could use [name]Josie[/name] as a nickname. [name]Heather[/name] and [name]Madeleine[/name] are both beautiful names! those are my top 3

[name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Josie[/name] is okay, but I don’t like it as a full name. [name]Madeleine[/name] would probably be my favourite from your list. [name]Laura[/name] is also nice, but the rest I don’t care for.

[name]Josie[/name]: I find [name]Josie[/name] really friendly and cheerful. Reminds me of [name]Maggie[/name] in that way. I agree that it’s better as a nick for [name]Josephine[/name].
[name]Heather[/name]: Not sure she’s ready for a comeback. [name]Heath[/name] is such a beautiful name for a boy - could be another way to honor your granny.
[name]Laura[/name]: Classic. Go for it. I do prefer [name]Laure[/name], [name]Laurel[/name], or [name]Lowri[/name].
[name]Madeleine[/name]: Not my fave. [name]Magdalena[/name] or [name]Magdalene[/name] please.
[name]Ruth[/name]: Yes. Serious and strong.

It seems like [name]Josephine[/name] is VERY popular on Nameberry.
