What do you think of this name?

What do you think of the name [name]Bode[/name] as a boy, pronounced “Bodie”? I have been watching the Olympics and really like the skier [name]Bode[/name] [name]Miller[/name]. Thoughts?

sure! why not??

What about [name]Brody[/name] or [name]Boone[/name]?
I’m not really on one side or the other with [name]Bode[/name], but it seems like it would cause a lot of pronounciation problems. I would naturally pronounce it like “to bode well” and then it would remind me of the word.

Good luck!

I think most people would automatically pronounce it “bode” like the word. You obviously can’t change it to a “y” and “Bodie” looks weird…

[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Brody[/name]?

I think it’s an appealing name. I know a nice guy in his late 20s with the name, but he spells it “Beaudy”. I’ve also seen it spelled “[name]Bodhi[/name]”.

I think its cute… I have a boy named [name]Boden[/name] in my class right now and [name]Bode[/name] would work as a nn.

I agree that there is a strong likelihood of mispronunciation with the [name]Bode[/name] spelling, but I do love the sound of the name when said correctly. Bodie, Bodey, not too sure how I feel about those spellings. I do kind of like [name]Bodhi[/name], but that has a more exotic feel which I’m not sure is something you’re going for.
Perhaps naming him [name]Beau[/name] with a “D” middle name? That could work!

I’d actually go with Bodie. Doesn’t seem like a girl to me even with that spelling.

What about Bodey? It looks better to me than Bodie, and I think the [name]Bode[/name] spelling is confusing.

Our son is named Bodie after the ghost town in [name]CA[/name], Bodie State [name]Park[/name]. We spent a weekend hiking in the [name]Ansel[/name] [name]Adams[/name] Wilderness, kayaking on Mono [name]Lake[/name], and visiting Bodie. It’s a great name and fantastic part of the country to explore. And with it spelled out exactly how it sounds, Bodie, we’ve never had any issues with people questioning the pronunciation. [name]Bodhi[/name] is the main character in Point Break, played by [name]Patrick[/name] Swayze. It’s short for Bodhisattva.
