What do you think of this name?

[name_f]Gertraud[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f], with the nickname Traud.

[name_f]Gertraud[/name_f] is pronounced Ger-trowd.

If you’re in the US, it might be commonly mistaken for [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f]–I personally would wonder if I had misheard someone during an intro because I’m not familiar with the name. I don’t find the “gert” or “trowd” sounds attractive or appealing, but sounds gain appeal in repetition so if I knew a [name_f]Gertraud[/name_f], it might grow on me.

But a name’s meaning and importance to you is more important than if the sounds are currently in style. For instance, I love [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and [name_f]Edna[/name_f] in honor of my grandma and even though everyone seems to hate these names, I would use them if I could and I know the names would grow on people once they knew a cute little [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] or [name_m]Eddie[/name_m].
