What are your thoughts on this name? I ve recently come to like it , and would like to know what this name makes you think of~

The name is Markham

It is pronounced as

MAR KUM

It honestly makes me think of Arkham and [name_m]Mark[/name_m] [name_m]Hamill[/name_m]. So, it just gives me a very Batman vibe. Itā€™s alright. I donā€™t love it but I donā€™t hate it either

Markham = [name_m]Mark[/name_m] 'em = mark them

Markum looks better to me, the sound is ok.

I like it fine. I prefer [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] or [name_m]Marsden[/name_m], but Markham works too.

Marsden is a cool name. Nice calm [name_m]Mark[/name_m] energy, but with that zesty Z sound I love, and den. Cool nns could be [name_u]Mars[/name_u], [name_u]March[/name_u], [name_m]Marzo[/name_m], [name_m]Den[/name_m], [name_u]Denny[/name_u], [name_m]Dennison[/name_m]. :slight_smile:

Maybe as a middle. I donā€™t think most kids really get teased over their names these days but the last syllable gives me pause.

Markham is a fairly common place name in my area so I hear it all the time. Maybe because itā€™s so familiar to me I kind of like it as a name. Iā€™d place it alongside names like [name_m]Kingston[/name_m], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_u]Dallas[/name_u], etc.

I live fairly close to a city named Markham as well! I pronounce it as [name_m]Mark[/name_m]-ham, but sometimes it comes out as [name_m]Mark[/name_m]'umā€¦ similarly how tourists pronounce Toronto (being very clear to pronounce both Tā€™s), but people that live their pronounce it as ā€œToronoā€. ;p
