What do you think of this one?

[name]Laurie[/name]. Maybe as a middle name? Some people like it and some think its really weird. What’s your opinions on it?

I prefer [name]Laura[/name] myself …The only [name]Laurie[/name] I know is in her 40’s

I also prefer [name]Laura[/name]. [name]Laurie[/name] doesn’t appeal to me at all.

I also know a [name]Laurie[/name] in her 40s. I think it’s a very 70s name, along the lines of [name]Lori[/name].

I like it! I think it would work best as a middle name, but it’s got a lovely sound and I like that spelling a lot!

I like [name]Laurie[/name]. It’s a surname (a la [name]Hugh[/name] [name]Laurie[/name]) and might be best known as part of the combo [name]Annie[/name] [name]Laurie[/name] (of whom I know two, both in their early 30s).

Reminds me of [name]Laurie[/name] (short for [name]Laurence[/name]) from the book [name]Little[/name] Women… on a girl it does sort of seem ‘old fashioned’ because the only [name]Laurie[/name]/[name]Loris[/name] I know are in their 30-40s.

It’s my cousin’s middle name, who in turn was named for her only two aunts (my mother and her aunt) We like her name… we call her by both names all the time. She’s in her teens… so I don’t think it’s THAT dated.

My best friend growing up was [name]Laurie[/name], nn for [name]Laurel[/name]. She goes by [name]Laurel[/name] now. I always loved it but she got called [name]Lori[/name] a lot. The way she said it rhymed with sorry. I would be surprised to meet a little one now but I like it!

I like it as a nickname for something else. As a full name on its own it seems dated to me and I don’t quite get the appeal. There are so many options from which to get to [name]Laurie[/name] - [name]Laura[/name], [name]Lauren[/name], [name]Laurel[/name], and even more obscure ones like [name]Laurentia[/name], [name]Laurette[/name], and so on.
