[name_f]Vilhelmina[/name_f] was my favorite name when I was a kid and I recently came across it on nameberry and realized that I still love it. So what do you think of [name_f]Vilhelmina[/name_f]/[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]? Would it be usable or just a guilty pleasure?
I have a fondness for names like this I think [name_f]Vilhelmina[/name_f] is great
is it a family name? (I have a few ancestors named Wilhemina and similar names, so just curious).
I think it is very usable, for either a first name or a middle!
No, it’s not a family name (that I know of). But there have been some ancestors with similar names, such as Josefiina and Adalmina.
I adore it, but spelled [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. I actually have the short form, [name_f]Wilma[/name_f], on my list.
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is a name that is very popular on Nameberry, it seems, and I honestly don’t understand why. It is definitely NMS and I don’t see the appeal. I think it has a decent sound, but the spelling is clunky for me. However, if you love it, then you should go for it. I think [name_f]Willa[/name_f] is a super cute nn for [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f].
More opinions?
Wilhelmina (prefer this spelling) is great. The other spelling starts with VIL and reminds me of the word villian. I like Wilhelmina because…
-
I have german heritage (father is 100%) & can see the appeal more “clunky” names.
-
Mina, Minnie, & Willa are adorable nicknames.
-
Has a lot of history & reminds me a royals.
I prefer it with the “W.” [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is a family name on my dad’s side.
